Well, could be your firewall. Disable it, then try again. If you get in, put your firewall back on.

Go to the start menu, click on "run" type "msconfig" go to the services tab and disable all. click apply when it is done disabling it and click "exit without restart"

start the game up and see if that works. It did for me.

Don't forget to go back into "msconfig" and enable everything again before you restart or shut down yer computer. if you do happen to shut it down or restart it than just go into "msconfig" again and enable it back again, and restart yer comp.

I can only join about 15-20% of the games online..... I suggest you try joining MANY games before you say it doesn't work.

Where did you get your modem from? Your internet provider?

If so it’s possible that your modem has a built in router and the router is blocking the ports.

Old modems may also have connection issues.

Research your modem brand on the internet to see if it has a built in router.

That was my problem and I solved it by buying a new modem.

OK, I contacted my ISP and was told my modem has no firewall or built in router. thefor is not blocking any port,so basically cant be anything to do with my modem ar provider. Im new to windows vista so I dont know if it could be a setting on the computer. any other thoughts?
