    organ guns and goons get beat by culvs and skirms. cause culverins have a longer range than organ guns and dragoons and if the dragoons get close to the culvs the skirmisher just kill them.

    Wait for the patch and use a differnet civ in the time being. You can beat people with skill to a certian point after that you get lamed by OP (OverPowered)  civs and can do nothing about it. You can also try playing unrated games with ports and rated with another civ you are good with.

    i just wanna say that organ guns the are good

    i hurt more than 400 men before i passed them and i use almost every thing a dutch civilization can use in total i use 250 imperial ruyters 125 imperial skirmishers and 75 imperial nausser and i also use 20 imperial field guns and then there was alot of cassadores and dragoons in total against a good portugees army with a dutch army i used in total 1000 men before i beat them the crap out but i forgot the put a blokkade on them and they got a lot of supplies also make sure they don't have fortified outpost all over the place against the wall because its really annoyingg running against the wall and get fired by some aweosome artillery and it kills you if you must beat some 50 organ guns and then again 50 believe me its exausting but organ gun are made more for defending yourself against other people but behind a lot of walls and outpost

    first of all, this topic is like forever old.

    Second, everything you just said happened in a no rush game, so it doesn't apply here.

    Third, all you had to do was make like 3 culverins and you could have taken out his whole organ gun army b/c culverins have a longer range than organ guns plus they can kill them in one shot.

    Organ guns(and the whole civ for that matter) used to be really good, but then they got nerfed, horribly.  And one of the things that got nerfed the most where organ guns. They cost to much (only 100 less resources than falconets i think) and they just can not compete with other cannons.  Not to mention their terrible health which means they only get one volley off before they are destroyed.  I admit they can be used well if your opponent is spamming infantry but the amount of work required to protect them makes them very unappealing to me. But if you like using the organ guns go right ahead, i'm not stopping you.

    I Play The Portugese like all the time. i have found Organ guns to be extremly useful. i send the 7 halb. card after a extremly fast ff, build an artillery foundery, and get exactly 5 O.guns. this takes out ANY army still in the colonial age, which most will be if they rush. hopefully, if they are dump enough, thye will try to keep up with your aging, but i can have the resourses to make 5 organ guns in 2 min, 9 sec. after aging. i agree, O.guns suck vs culv. but just sending in ONE halb. to take care any culv.s allows you to take out the art.foundery b4 they get anything else out. This is just an interesting idea i had.

    try it out. i dont gather NE wood. 300 wood, 400 Qmaster, and the 700 wood are enough for the houses, and cannons. just age, then make af, and gather 1500 gold.

    I am pretty good at Porteguese. I haven't played an actual rush game because I am worried about their rushing, but I have played nr 15. By then I was able to max out with hussars and organ guns, and then I go with whatever is better for my opponent. 

     I guess the only thing you can do with ports is cheap outpost card maybe and get a lot of them and make crossbowmen and muskets until you are age 3.

    if your opponent gets 2 or more culverines you loose. because its easier to protect his culvs than your organ guns b/c they have more health. I admit organ guns have their uses but i would never invest resources to get them.  The only time i ever use them is if i get the shipment of them b/c they are just not worth their cost.

    Angus, shut up.

    Earlier you said Dragoons and Organs get owned by Skirms and Culverins, NO WAY! REALLY? I NEVER KNEW THAT. What you said is like saying Hussars and Musketeers get owned by Dragoons and Skirms.

    Every unit has a counter. It just depends on how you micro. Against Skirms and Culverins, you send your Dragoons to kill his Culverins and Organs should focus on Skirms. It's all about micro.

    Now shut up and stop stating the counter system cause we all know that.


    You may be able to prolong your life, but it's not like you can escape your inevitable death, is it?
