    yes its true both is better but if u dont have the skills to manage all three resources (food, wood and coin) then i personally suggest making only ashis (which only require food and coin).

    ashigaru is where its at, he is OP.

    but of course you need to counter, if they get lots of RI, stop making ashigarus and get some cavalry.

    get some ashis, harrass with them (try not to get them killed) make sure he knows your making ashis, then get some cav and more ashis and attack, hopefully theyre making infantry counters, so they get owned by your horses, if not retreat and make yumi (switch most gold vills to wood, but leave some on gold to make ashis/horses if you have to, or age).

    All jap units are good i love samurai as well they are very good units and should be used and back them up with aggys and yumis.
