    All you need is a few more muskets than jains to win a battle against the ottos.

    if he has 25 janis all you need is 28 muskets, throw in a few hussars to help out,

    Muskets can be tricky because that's the closest thing to a counter to this strat. If your opponent has a lot of muskets, the best thing you can do is to stall until you can get a good number of abus/jan out. Send shipments of cannon, troops, and fort and use minutemen if nessecary. Use your spahi to raid instead of fight. Raiding can help immensely. Spahi are awsome for raiding because of their huge atttack power. Shipping mamelukes can help a lot because they have 1450 hp and 40% range resist and can soak up musket fire while your other units attack the muskets. If you're still not winning, ship schooners and boat boom to age 4.

     @ Rico, I severely doubt you can beat 25 jans with 28 musks. Jans have 235 hp while muskets have 150, and have 20 attack and musks have 23 meaning it will take 11 musket shots to kill a jan and 8 jan shots to kill a musket. Veteran jans have 1.2 times the stats as unupgraded jans so 25 jans will beat 28 musk easily. Hussars don't exactly beat jans either.

    tested it out in the senerio editor i know it works, this is not veteran jans, Hussars are not that good your right but there help out and when you eco is targeted towards food and gold you might as well. You only need to have 2 to 4 more musks than jans to beat and army of jans.

    Sorry, but I don't believe that. I tested it too. I put 3 battles on a single map, one was with 25 jans vs 28 musk both in a straight line(A), another was 25 jan vs 28 musk both in rectangular formation(B), and the last was 9 abus and 10 jan vs 28 musk(C), which is probably most realistic if the ottoman player sees a musket spam. The Ottoman troops won every time. Each test took roughly 1 minute, so I did it 5 times. All the troops fired at the exact same time and no micro was used

    In battle A, 9, 12,11, 10, and 9 jans survived after killing all the muskets, for an averge 10.2

    In battle B, 13 jans survived all 5 times for an average of obviously 13

    In battle C 6 abus, 8 abus, 9 abus and 1 jan, 7 abus,and 8 abus survived for an averageof 7.6 abus and 0.2 jans.

    Not even close to the muskets winning. The only way I see that you may have gotten to your conclusion is if you set the civ with the jans to Russia, making the jans 20% weaker.

    Okay i just tested it again, and this is what i got.

    A Muskets win

    B Jans win with 2 units left but with very low HP

    C Muskets win!

    I dont know what your smokin but pass it along LOL!

    BTW this is 25 Jans vs 28 muskets

    Rico, i don't know what the hell kind of testing you are doing but you are obviously wrong. 

    Janisaries should ALWAYS win. make sure the units start in range of each other, so that you never have more muskets than jans firing, and make sure that you counted the correct number of units on each side.

    EDIT: how many hussar did you put in? or did you add any at all? i am assuming this is without any hussar

    anyway, good to see a strat even if it is very old and tired now. One thing the guy who wins with musket and hussar or wot eva i assume ur playing brit?? and if so why would u spahis ff vrs a civ like british anyway just jan abus rush him age 2 and eat his muskets and win i under 10 min... this strat has alwyas been good Yes

    okay i dont know whats going on all i know is if i but 25 jans and 28 muskets in a battle the muskets always win other that one time they always win and ive tested it about thirty times. I just tested it again so if anyone could tell me how it is that im getting the results im getting that would be nice if not then somthing is tripping me out!
