    Subject: suggested map size

    wut is the suggested map size for a custom scenario online? i made a map thats 1000x1000 and i think thats the cause of some serious lag problems. so, if anyone knows what is the max map size suggested before the map will lag?

    Standard well dude kind of pointless question for me does not give lag....well depends on comp ill say normal or standard

    Does matter for what kind of map you need. On a 4 players game, a normal map size is recomanded. At 6 or more players a large map will do just fine.

    Another option is to have a normal map and use the New AoE3 Editor by Reyk (download at: AoE3 Heaven Games) and set Map Elevation on min value on Terrains. Good luck!

    It really depends on the purpose, but generally try to keep it less than:

    • 1200*1200 for single player
    • 800*800 for multiplayer

    larger than that could cause serious lag.

    252 by 252 for 1v1

    400 by 400 for 1v2 

    462 by 462 for 2v2

    528 by 528 for 2v3 

    740 by 740 for 3v3

    850 by 850 for 3v4 

    950 by 950 for 4v4

    These are just approximates, I only know 1v1/2v2/3v3's size best. I just recommend these sizes for maps.
