    Subject: Celcius vs. Fahrenheit

Good evening (from my point of veiw).

This evening i was watching a little video about "football(soccer) in super smash bros. brawl.". I decided to look on all the comments ond scrolled down to look on the resposes with negative ratings (most of them said things like " dude thats not football, thats soccer"). Further down i saw a response that caught my eye, it said something like this " The reason that the americans call it football is that hr ball is about 1 foot long, this may be a little confusing for the europeans, since they use the metric system, wich i actually think is better. but i still prefer fahrenhet over culcius".

this made me wonder, what do other think about the celcius/fahrenheit?

I think celcius are better, since the point when water freezes is 0'C and when water boils is 100'C, easy to remember.

    So wht do YOU think?

Uncle Kimuyama want YOU to give him your thougts.

    discuss! Paradise

Where I grew up and live we always use celcius; I have not yet gotten used to Fahrenheit. I like it how 0 degrees is water's freezing point and 100 is waters boiling point, like you said. To me it just makes sense to have less larger numbers so it's easier to  gauge differences etc.

Know what's weird? Day by day, nothing seems to change. But pretty soon, everything's different.

The imperial system is inconsistent, the metric system operates on a base of ten and logical prefixes. 10 millimetres in a centimetre, 100 centimetres in a metre, 1000 metres in a kilometre, etc...

For scientific reasons i would like Celcius, other than that i am fine with Fahrenheit. Yes, I understand that Celcius makes more sense to most people because they were born with it, and same for me with Farenheit. My parents immigrated to the US in their twenties and they still cannot really tell how hot 80 degrees Fahrenheit is compared to how it really feels.

I like the big difference in numbers so you can tell the true difference. Come on, 1 is cold and 35 is hot with Celcius. If they made 0 the freezing point and 200 the boiling point i would be fine with the change. Sorry but i can tell the differnce between 68 and 69 degrees Fahrenheit. With Celcius i would tell the difference between .3 degree change or something like that.

If they made an new system to make a everything twice as large as the original metric system then i would be fine.(hey i hope this idea really happens because the Old English system sucks but it is still better for me than the metric but i think that the kilogram needs to become smaller too.)

Then the tens should be twice as long. :D yeah

As an American I grew up with the Imperial system and therefore my basic instincts tell me that Fahrenheit is easier, along with the other Imperial units.

But seriously the metric system is far more practical, the system of tens is consistent:

    10 mm in 1 cm

    100 cm in 1 m

    1,000 m in 1 km

    100,000 cm in 1 km

    easy. Yes

    12 in. in 1 ft.

    3 ft. in 1 yd.

    1760 yd. in 1 mile

    5280 ft. in 1 mile

wtf? where did those units come from? [^o)]
