Above 100, stay home with air conditioning on.

Kelvin is actually the "real" temperature scale, because Kelvin is a SI-unit, which neither Fahrenheit or Celsius is. But since the Kelvin scale is based on the Celsius scale, I would guess the Celsius is the right one.

And ad quoted from wikipedia:

"Three nations have not officially adopted the International System of Units(SI-units) as their primary or sole system of measurement: Liberia, Myanmar and the United States."

This evening i was watching a little video about "football(soccer) in super smash bros. brawl.". I decided to look on all the comments ond scrolled down to look on the resposes with negative ratings (most of them said things like " dude thats not football, thats soccer"). Further down i saw a response that caught my eye, it said something like this " The reason that the americans call it football is that hr ball is about 1 foot long, this may be a little confusing for the europeans, since they use the metric system, wich i actually think is better. but i still prefer fahrenhet over culcius".

this made me wonder, what do other think about the celcius/fahrenheit?

I think celcius are better, since the point when water freezes is 0'C and when water boils is 100'C, easy to remember.

well, the reasons americans call american football "football" is because it is an indirect child of association football (soccer)...

association football came first, from which came rugby football, from which came rugby union and rugby league, from which came american football...

"soccer" or association football came first, the word "football" followed from that game and has now become a family of sports. the name has nothing to do with the length of the ball...

as for C vs F... i can use both, but i prefer using celcius. the glory of being british is that we use both our old imperial units like miles and feet (our roads are still in miles per hours and distances are in miles and yards) as well as the european metric system...

both are good for different purposes. for science i use the metric system, for everyday i tend to use imperial...

Bah, the only Fahrenheit I know is that 96.9oF = 36-37oC, so that means that 80oF is roughly 30oC... that ain't nothing, I can wear long pants in that kind of weather.

I would say Celsius is better, and not just because I was brought up that way. It is more simple, easier for people to learn. However, the worst part between the F - C comparison is that they're not even to scale!

I think that absolute zero (the lowest possible temperature) is the same in both temperatures (-271o) but then it goes all funky-like when you start getting to +0o...
