    Subject: The Ancient Age

    I. Introduction
Since longer time the Modding Project The Ancient Age is already in development. Its objective is to implement 5 antique cultures with the AoE3 Engine and Structure. These are: Carthaginians, Celts (Gauls), Hellenes (aka Greeks), Persians and Romans

    » Official Forum »
    (Hosted by ne.elpea.net)

    II. Team
The Team consists on the one hand of beginners and on the other hand of people with experience in modding. The underlying idea of the team set is to teach beginners one or more aspects of modding with the final aim to integrate them effectively into the project.

The project itself is english. The team works in a closed member area on ne.elpea.net, the Official Napoleonic Era Homepage. An own The Ancient Age Forum is coming soon!
Our first release will be an Alpha-Version that contains playable Romans and Hellenes. =]

    » Romans | Hellenes «

    III. Features
5 completely new cultures with new units, among others Tactical Units like Spies, Assassins or Officers, new Economic Units like Scholars, Slaves, female and male citizens. Longer ages show the true advantages and disadvantages of cultures and demand from players more strategic and flexible thinking.

We are willed to create a more ambitious 1st and 5th Age. The 'Campaign' feature (similar to 'Revolution') makes it possible to change the usual managment of a town to a more intensive organization of a professional army. A new, more realistic counter-system, new random maps, User Interface and Homecity Design are other features that we'll try to realize as well.

IV. Realization of 'The Ancient Age'
To realize a huge project like The Ancient Age an active team is absolutely needed. Even if there is already a new active team, we'd like to extent the amount of workers to speed up the process of production. Therefore we are looking for new ambitious members, who want to learn fast and work practically.

We appreciate every new interested request, even if we have to refuse some people, they tried it and had the good intention to help us.
The more people work for our project, the faster will we finish it, simpliest logic, isn't it? So take your chance and prevent stagnation or a long periods of waiting. We support everyone who »really« wants to help us and is not just taking a look for two weeks. Thanks. ;)

    V. Offers

Texturer (no limit) - You should be experienced using graphics programs as Photoshop or GIMP. Special tutorials for AoE3 Texturing will be available for you. Designing the new units and buildings is a job that requires passion, ambition and some patience. You'll be supported with everything you'll need for doing your job quite good (drafts, information etc.).

Coder (max.2) - Sounds pretty hard, but isn't actually if you have basic modding knowledge. You'll work with the animations, abilities and attachments of objects and manage your own catalogue so that you can organise and suggest the best possibilities to make our objects looking unique and realistic. That might be a pretty good job to test basic modding skills.
You'll put objects in the final structure after the other workers did the details (e.g. stringtable.xml and proto.xml)

Concept/Graphics Artist (no limit) - You can draw and/or are experienced in using graphic programs? Are artistically talented and want to show and prove your abilities? Share them with us! You'll have to do some very interesting works, which will be seen by everyone. Having a lot of free room for creativity you can do a lot of different things, from simple icons and unit portraits to loadingscreens, special creative backgrounds and User Interface Design.

Co-Balancer (max.2) - Your job sounds quite easy, but requires good working knowledge about unit classes and the counter system. You'll have to help designing a completely new counter system. Our balancer 'egel' already started with it, so you'll assist him.

    VI. Terms Of Admission
    • Will to improve your abilities/will to work alone and with the Team
    • Appropriate expenditure of time for this project

    Thanks peugeot. =)
    @General_II - what? :D

The Eques (meaning »Rider«) is a relict of the glorious and successful cavalry of the Roman Kingdom. Only the rich could afford a horse and armour. The appearance of this cavalry as well as of infantry was still influenced by Hellenism.

Equites are available in the stable in Age II and will meet their old historical requirements of a support cavalry that was useful against light troops and raids against the civil population. The Eques in Age II is not only representing the strong and famous cavalry of the Roman kings, but the rather weak cavalry of the Republic as well.
However, later on in Age IV the Eques will be affected by a change of armament that enlarges the amount of boni and benefits the effort to transform this unit into an acceptable allround-cavalry.

lol, I know what 'ftw' means ^^ won't change the link tho since they'll be back at any time and I'd have to change the links in a lot of threads. ;) There is not really that much on HG that I'd change it and moddb.com suxx a bit. I can't post news, that's pretty shitty.

Subject: Unit Presentation: Princeps (Age III)
Exceptionally I joined the Modding Contest on HeavenGames.com, naturally I don't want to keep my contestant back from you. ;)

The picture shows the Roman Princeps, it means »the first« and refers to position of the unit in the Roman battle lines. However, they were never really standing in the first line, in front of them were the Hastati and depending on the phase of the battle mostly skirmishers as well. Principes were, in view of the Roman Republic - the richer and better equipped Hastati. This is why the Princeps is the next level of the Hastatus, which will be available in Age III. So both units have the same abilities and functions. They are heavy infantry and have as secondary fight mode also a ranged attack. The effective Roman standard soldier.
