    Subject: Unexpected Strategy Challenge

Hey no rules gamers out there! I've been exploring the civilizations (mostly rush civs) and have
been testing out some unexpected strategies with them. Lately, I've been testing a theory on Fast Industrializing. Yeah, I know it sounds whack, but wait until you hear the details. I had this insane game with the Spanish. Normally, a player expects the rush out of the Spanish. So
ordinarily they do not rush the Spanish civ for this. After the Spanish ages to the Fortress, the opponent usually expects the Lancer. I age to the Fortress with the Spanish at usually 8 mins(Which is before normal opponent rushes). Anyway, I sent a villager up behind/in between the enemy bases and aged to the Fortress age at around 10-12 mins. I also build barracks in my town for defense. Most enemies would be going crazy spamming units to my base seeing i have no resources for an army. But guess what? My Fb had an outpost that used the many shipments of the Spanish and shipped my 24 xbowmen and 24 pikes. Plus, I added in a little bit of lancers (stable) and there were 20 pikemen plus 12 pikes/6 rods on the way from the HC. I crushed my opponents and won the game for my team! As you can see, the goal of my Fast Industrializing is to ship large numbers of troops from the HC.

It was extremely fun creating an unexpected strategy that stunned my opponent and put him in a deathgrip. My challenge to you is to create a strategy and then tell of it. Who knows, Maybe a clan could be created out of this. Even if you didn't create the strategy, Please tell. Also, I'll take any posts about my strategy.

the fast industrial is an actual strat, but few people actually use it.

another one very unusual is the fast revolt, but it may really work somtimes...

once i thought about a ~6min FF with otto:

    -send NO cards in discovery
-age up with the 500 food
-while aging, collect 300gold and some wood for houses and a mosque
-send 700 gold and 700 food
-age with the fast age up and ship another TC to double villager production

i tried against the comp and it worked, but it still need some improvement

Thats a pretty good strategy.  6 minutes is fast enough that the enemy won't even have a barracks to attack you when you're weak.

Anyone else with any good strategies?

6 min ff with otto can be done easy even with a 3 villie card in discovery. Try is vs Russians its great.

HONESTLY. You TADers think TAD is all that exists. Stay on your own forums, with your like 14 civs.

Once, I didn't build any units at all and won. How?

I sprinted round to my opponents house. Fly-kicked him in the back of the head, then smashed his face into the screen. Then, casually, i went back to my house and used my 6 starting settlers to kill him Smile

*this strat only works if you can run to your opponents house in under 3 minutes and have enough balls and strength to kill him...

Im pretty sure that a skilled Frnech Player would be able to get these numbers by then, and would most likely have attacked before u send the shipments.

The only way to make sure this works well is to upgrade both to veteran before u ship, then theyll have enough advantage.

Of course, the Dutch 30-pikes-in-5:30 strat would slaughter this...

Actually aging up to the Industrial with the Spanish gives you 5 lancers. I run them across the map to my invasion force and make more lancers out of a barracks at my outpost. Believe it or not, the lancers go through xbows easy and even pikemen.

Plus, not many people rush anymore. I hardly ever see anybody rush. They all attack now adays at 10-13 minutes which is when my invasion force from the hc arrives.

Whoops, forgot about the age up lancers Embarrassed

Well duh, lancers will pwn everything in age 2 except massed hand cavalry or pikes (only if they outnumber considerably)

But if the opponent lets u get to the stage where u can get those lancers, then really its their fault they lost. If u didnt get any military until Age 4 then a Petard FF with Dutch would slaughter this, then they could keep laying on the siege with halbs.

Which leads to a new strat Ive invented, the Dutch petard FF. Probably wont work and never been tested, but o well Wink

Basically, its a regular FF, except 700 Coin and maybe 700 Food would be sent instead of banks and 700 Wood. So with around a 6:30 min age up with the exiled prince, or 7:30 for 5 Halberdiers, u then send 6 petards, sneak around and pwn the opponents TC, barracks and houses/mills. Then u can just spam skirms/halbs as they rebuild.

This would probably work better with 3 banks, but that would slow the Age up time by about 8:30 to 9:00, and by then the opponent wouldnt necessarily need those buildings to beat ur defenseless town. Advanced frontier defenses or a Fort might work well to help defense.

As u can tell, this strat would pwn on Ceylon, theres no way that a TC on a rock would be defended by enough to kill 2 petards before they detonate. Then u just boom like a *** .
