We're currently working to correct an error that is preventing Age of Mythology and Titans players from being able to log in to ESO. This will likely take us at least several more hours to fix.

In the mean time, here is a workaround that will allow players to log in successfully to ESO:

Changing your computer's date to the 23rd or anything earlier than that will allow you to log in to ESO until we resolve this issue.

Nice job ;) Don't know how anyone could possibly figure something like this out... they'd have to have tried everything. Was the login error caused by the recent IE7 patch? At any rate, thank you for your input.

This is completely unrelated to the IE7 DLL that we released...just an unhappy coincidence.

hmmm I changed date and I made some progress, but then it says that (cant remembeer exact quote) [Your computer cant connect because you may have invalid cd key, your secret question might be too short 19.]
once again the error message was different but you get the point.
Any help would be appreciated, I want to play as much as everyone else. Its an upgrade from "ESO is not accepting log in requests".

I'm afraid the workaround doesn't work for me, either. I've changed the Windows date to Feb 18, and now when I log in, my CD starts spinning up, AOT freezes, and I have to kill the process.

I'm not sure if it's an upgrade...I still can't play! I'm getting this same error.

Now I can't even log in at all. I changed my Date to like the Feb 22 and I was playing for like 45 min. now I can't even log in I get that weird error message. Is there a reason? [Edited on 2/24/2007]

The workaround was successful, I got onto ESO. Then I started getting messages about ESO not being able to upload the games list in Advanced setup, and the two Quick Setup matches I got dropped during the "Launching Game" phase. So the problem is definitely bigger than a simple login error.

BTW other people were getting the same messages, according to the chat room conversation.

When I changed the date before Feb 24, it worked for me without receiving the "ESO is not accepting login/account creation requests" message. But I saw very few people online so I just exit. Now when I went to check back on it again, that's when I get this error message about "ESO cannot connect to your computer." It only worked for the first try and it was pretty much over for me -- I got disconnected. However, I do get the rare "ESO servers are down" error message.

I think this problem has to do with the ESO servers or the Microsoft Windows updates, because for some reason, changing the date made my Avira AntiVir updater and some other downloading website to start respond properly again. Not sure though...

Yeah - sorry everyone. Things have been in a state of flux here, so it appears that this workaround is no longer working.

Current status is that we have some requests in to one of Microsoft's other departments. I'm not sure how long it will take for someone to get back to us with an approval on the work we need to finish given that it is the weekend, but we've done all we can do at this point. So, ESO is going to remain in this state for Age of Mythology players probably for the rest of the night, and a worst case scenario would likely be until some time on Monday.

I'm sorry about this folks, it's been a tough day but we're doing all we can to get ESO back to fully operational status.
