tenemoh:will this cause any viruses?
ofcourse not, you arentt doing anything that shuts down firewall, you are simply allowing your connection to be more open for certain applications, like aoe3.
C&P if you wanna see Ensemble stay open!

Only half correct. If you have a router it shouldn't increase the possability of a virus. If you don't have a router (ie connected directly to the Internet) it could potentially be harmful.
I assure everyone here it is not harmful, ICMS only allows communications to be better, but does not open up to viruses

When I configured the protocols for AOE I selected to all protocols and all comunications to pass through (which includes ICMS) from what I was reading it says that the modem also can have a firewall which can block your ability to connect with most games on AOE. So the next step for me is to contact my ISP.

\ yes i do suggest that... Re: Failed to Join...Tried all the fixes, still dosnt work.
Alright guys after 6 months I found a way to be able to join games, shame on ES.
Here's how I made it on vista :
1. First browse to the My Documents\My Games\Age of Empires 3\startup 2. If there is not a user.cfg file then create one. 3. Open the user.cfg file with a text editor; like notepad 4. Enter OverridePort="the port number you want to use" 5. Save the file and close it.
So basicaly I just created a file and I wrote overrideport="2307" in it and it worked, I hope this is going to help some of you. By the way, I turned off the windows firewall.
