    I play brits and I rarely use lb vs japan. He can just pop up some naginatas and ur GG. Id suggest hussar-musk rush; it's alot more effective but it's rather harder to perform.

     

    PS. Outbooming a japan is practically impossible: think about it, he dont have iddle villagers and he's so hard to raid!

     PS2. One of Japan's greatest weakness is their slow start. Rush him HARD toward the 4:50.

    Hence me mentioning pikes. You get some pikes out and have them kill the nags with longbows, there's no problem.

    Because the Japanese player has barracks, what's to stop him from getting out Ashigarus if he could, in that case, get naginatas as well? If he micros correctly those hussars are null and void, and those musketeers are absolutely dead.

    Brits can outboom Japan if you look at what I mentioned.

    Use the longbowmen to harass when possible. FORGET food villagers. Go for woodcutters and builders, and start the boom during the initial batch of longbows. If you cut a Japanese player off from wood, or at least slow him down, his power in the early game is severely reduced. No stables then. No consulate either, and shrines are slowed down from building.

    Plus, if he gets a daimyo, you can at least snipe him with longbowmen.

     

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but japan has a slow rush. Ur musk-hussar assault is at 6:00, a time when he cant counter both cav and musk (unless he has 300wood start). After, just keep pumping musk and his military is dead.

     Also, if he wants to switch from yumis to musks, the transition of ressources takes time (a good 15 seconds) and the time to train them (30seconds, if im not mistaken). The time he does so, his rax is already down.

    One of japans main weaknes is lack of artilery. If you can get to age 3 and spam canons+ musks is GG for you. Always works..I play on captain lvl players dont know about higher.

    actually ifthe Jap uses Yabusames they destroy any artillery with their OP 8x bonus

    BTW flaming arrows are one of the most feared artillery in the game...
