For me, the Ports. 1. The Portuguese dragoons are superior, as they have a) a combat card for attack and hit points (don't know if brit dragoons have that) and b) MUCH superior range with their unique long range dragoons card (whose name escapes me) 2. Port Muskets, while slightly inferior to redcoats, have more health (i think), and serve as a great meat shield for cassadores and dragoons, as well as aiding in siege (which cassadores and dragoons suck at) 3. Cassadores a) don't have a potential wood cost problem, and b) have greater resistance to damage, as well as greater attack (they do loose in range, however) 4. For me the best point is the port economy. Their Town centre (center depending on where you live) a age up is a great sustained boom (the brit manor boom is good, but only occurs early game in most cases). This leads to much greater villager production, which is probably the most important thing to getting a good economy ASAP. They also have good economy cards to level up (though they the Brits are pretty similar). Overall they are easier to use (especially economy wise), have a fine military and I just like them better (as they are my favorite civ).
