Re: "Failed to Join Game", "Cannot Connect to ESO" Megathread
diaperman3:
"Failed to Join" happens even when same 4 players that previously joined and played a game finish that game then try to start a second game with the exact same players and settings, without even relogging in.
That's not any sort of player pc or player connection problem.
Yeah that is kinda an ESO problem.

Problems with "Failed to Join game"
Well, everytime i go onto ESO and try and join a game but i get the response "failed to join game" I can host games and they run smoothly but i just cant join any (with the exception of 1 in 20). However when i am at my dad's house - i can join games with ease. it is really annoying cause i cant play with any of my friends.? Does anyone have any advice??
thanks

Re: "Failed to Join Game", "Cannot Connect to ESO" Megathread
Yes, this seams to be an implementation problem. My bet is that they choose some bad multiplayer implementation model that is somehow dependet of some confuse network settings and, at the current point, it would be much expensive to remodel and fix it. I say so because i can play the same Age3 with anyone using hamachi. It
would just be the case of implementing an ESO based on the hamachi
engine and i don't think there would be so much problems. At least, the problems i am experiencing with a lot of people wouldn't. But, once again, changing the implementation now would expensive and, so, they don't care. I am not proposing anyone to use hamachi engine on ESO. I just used hamachi to point out my bet on the ESO implementation problem.
I don't fall for the "this is your computer problem" excuse. There are a bunch of on-line games out there, and this was the first one with this kind of problem i see. []s, Vitor

Failed to Join...Fixed
I have done this and now I never get the FAILED TO JOIN GAME error on ESO. This is tested and working on 3 Windows XP computers that previously had the Failed problem. Hope this helps and it is worth a try. Go to Control Panel--> Network Connections Right Click on the internet you are using (for example, Local Are Connection or Wireless Network Connection). Click Properties Go to the Advanced Tab Click "Settings" on Windows Firewall Go to the Advanced Tab on the pop-up once again Click "Settings" on the connection you are using Go to the "ICMP" Tab Check Every single box/Allow everything Click Ok, and Ok again. You are done...hopefully no more problems... Cheers, TheTerm
