Re: First civ you started playing?
I started playing as the Ottos. When I first got the game, I was looking through all the special traits of the different civs and came to Ottos. "Town Centers produce settlers for free. Can upgrade settler production at Mosques." So I thought, "paying resources for settlers is for chumps".
Know what's weird? Day by day, nothing seems to change. But pretty soon, everything's different.

Spanish.
I can't believe noone mentioned them. Aren't they like one of the easiest civs to play with ?
Actually, they are one of the hardest civs to play, they are the only Euro civ with a completely conventional economy, cant get a good HI counter until Age3, and were nerfed massively in the last patch.

But they were so easy the first time I tried them...

You nut, they're one of the hardest. I rank them with China, Ports, and perhaps France (haven't given frenchies a whirl for some time).
