    Subject: Overall Civilizations

    Hey,

I'm just wondering which civilization should I play for a general supremacy game? I want to be able to rush and I want something that can counter most other civilizations. I also want something that can counter an opponents rush early in the game (without sacrificing my economy) but can also build up a great economy and then attack.

Which civilisation is best suited for me? (I have TAD)

    James! Smile

Germany. To convince you, I shall tell you why.

    • SW are great ressource gatherers, the 3 and 2 shipments are great.
    • Uhlans are strong (not that solid) cav, not too hard to mass, and devastating.
    • Sending that 9xbow shipment asap in the second age is great for early military.
    • They can mass xbow/pike better than any other civ (better than france, prolly better than china, better than spain imo because of better econ).
    • Not too hard a civ, and it's a top tier one, very strong.
    Give 'em a shot. ^^

you should try out most civs, play unrated games, or with friends. etc. And test most civs.

Those I recommend is the native ones (iroquis, aztec, sioux) since not much people play as them.

Then maybe some of those european one and china. Not Japan or india - way too many play as them just becouse they are "OP" but a good strategy can take them down

    civs i use are:

Germans : solid Eco and they got real strong shipments (who cares they come slightly slower then other civs) and the fastest overall army in the game (5.85 HI, 5.2 LI, 7.4 HC, 6.6 LC).

French: Best eco once you've maxed pop, biggest (120 slots) and quickly trained (80% speed boost on infantry and light cav, instant cuirs, 40% speed boost on artillery) army, strong HC with cuir splash damage. And decent villager shipments.

British: Best boom possible with manors, solid army (Royal guard HC, HI, card improved dragoons and longest range LI).

Reason i stick with those 3 is because they have a solid early eco which can help you muster an army strong enough to block rushes and if you don't get rushed by 9 min you can easily get an army that's hard to beat. And if games last a while each of those civs will have a strong army and a top notch eco compared to other civs. Russians are a strong civ too for the reasons said above but they're slightly predictable cause a russian nearly always masses strelets or muskets, because cossacks are pop effective but not really cost effective compared to their counterparts.
