    Subject: Japan Export Penalty

    Giving Japan a 10% export penalty would help balance Japan's super strong consult. Germany has super strong shipments and they have a 10% penalty. This would help reduce some of the clubs_pulled_from_ass crap.

    ... above all the OP things japan have the consulate is the last option I would nerf... why not just slow down their economy by nerfing shrines? That would fix the main problem.

     

     

    Then, nerf some of ashis shipments by moving the colonial upgrade into fortress age.

     

    No need to kill the consulate: u didnt pay 200 wood and 100 export for practically nothing lol

    The equivalent of ~400 resources worth of labor for universal +10% attack AND a rax with archaic units is practically nothing with a 10% export penalty?

    The consulate system should not be nerfed, but that nerf would barely be noticeable.

    What he should've probably suggested was batch-training for those units. That way the Japanese consulate would run under the same limitations as the other consulates.

    Cards don't get moved.

    The GP/Daimyo/Shogun stacking is probably the biggest problem with japan. Even if Ashi were nerfed, Nagi/Ashi would still dominate everything.

    If Monks lost the ability to build shrines (or that ability was tied into a card) OR the HP of Shrines were reduced, then we might see some better initial balancing. I personally don't mind Japan shrine booming, I think it should be a viable strategy; however, I don't think it should be so easy as it is. They should have to risk using a villager to expand their economy, and that economy should be initially fragile. Maybe the Age4 tech could also boost shrine HP by a significant amount as end-game compensation, but early-on those shrines need to go down faster than they do now.

    Yep, agree with you. So...:

     

    -nerf shrine ressource production by 10-20%.

    -Take out ability for monks to make shrines

    -Nerf ashi upgrades (move ashi combat to fortress)

    -Nerf daimyo aura

    - Nerf naginata upgrade card by a bit.

     

    And now, no need to nerf the consulate. Everything's good!
