I just had to ask this. Perhaps I'm not really so brushed up on the lingo as I should be, but I played a treaty game last week. The treaty was I believe 30 minutes long, and then as we were approaching the treaty, my opponent said "nr 45 minutes, ok??" and my partner in the game answered "k." I was like "wtf he serious?? We just waited 30 minutes already," and just didn't answer, deciding I'd see what everyone would do when the treaty ended and just play along. When the treaty ended I sent my explorer to snatch a native tribe so I could get their technologies, and as he was going there, he happened upon my enemy trying to build a fort just outside of my walls, in a less-obvious corner. I of course, sent my army there and obliterated him and the fort, before he could even get it built. He said "wtf it's nr 45 minutes" and I once again thought "....Seriously???" and just waited to see what would happen, building more barracks and stables with all of my extra wood, and after 2 minutes he attacked again. After that a war broke out like normal, and in the end I won. Still, what the heck happened there? Why the heck is he saying "NR 45 minutes" after we just got done waiting 30, and why is he building a fort outside of my base if that's the agreement? I never do well in treaty games. I'm always forgetting it's half map and getting yelled at for sending my villagers towards their side, or some weird crap like this that I don't even understand. So I just had to ask, what the crap was that all about?
