I play russia alot and have alot of great facts about them. I know which units are awesome and what there good against. any way my average score after 40 is about 1700 plus. just want to know what some people think about strelets and cossacks.

u shuld only use opricheicnics vs. forward bases- for walls i use grenaiders which are awesome- no they arent artillery theyre light infr. i laugh when people send out draggoons

Grenadiers are heavy infrantry. Cossacks are only one pop, but they're expensive for being one pop and they really aren't that good. They die too easily. So unless I see like a few cannons in the open or maybe pure skims with no meat shield, I won't use them. You might as well use oprichniks on those things.

Strelets are fun to use when your in stalemates, you can pretty much spam them forever in the right combo. They're basically good for eco battles.

russian mili strenght is their specialised units.

Strelet should be ur main unit, with few musks, flanking with cossack only when u feel neccecary. Furthermore grens + OPs good siege units, but u can avoid them by using their very effective mortars. When u see hand cav, or lots of melee units, spam a wall of halbs blocking their path to strelets, and get some cav archers.

Btw, 1700 is really too low.. should have at least 2100 at 40 with their good eco. (without fur)

Bad call. Oprics. Take 2 pop. And are weaker than a Hussar. A Cossack maybe Expensive for 1 pop but thats a good. They do better vs. Shirs and Art. Than an Opic. If you Opics. you will lose unless the player is an idoit.

now the strelets... theyre cheap and weak but and be produced fast and there can be a lot of them! that is what i don't like... they can rush in 6 min with 5 cossacks and 23 strelets. that does so they kill every inf cus the strelets r cheap skirms. and then they just produce more of them. thats hard to beat cus allmost the only thing that helps most is cav and cannons, cannons can onøy be trained in fortress age and it is hard to go up in fortress in 6 mins + have some cannons. i think the only thing that helps is the cav. it kills strelet's easy but it is still hard to get them fast in 6 min. so the onky hope i think is the cossacks so ut should be the russian vs. russian so the cossacks kill the strelets. thats what i know. now talk a little bit about strelets too... that was what he asked about.

in no rush i prefer mosketers tham strelets, but for rush, they are great. as they cost almost half of a normal mosketeer, and they deal 16 of total range damage vs they. so they are good to use for rush against otos or british in rush, but for no rush, use mosketters, make forts in front of enemy walls, instead of strelets make cannons. they are much better, expectially behind 5 walls shooting at samurais ^^ but cossacks they are kind of expensive, but they kill skimirshers really easy, against cannons use oprinchinicks, they have vs 3 or 2 vs artilhary and better they atack from a far hand to hand range ^~^ and they kill houses really easy(130 of sige X 1.3 with the advanced arsenal).

Imperial Cossacks are more cost effective than Imperial Hussars. (Cossacks cost a total of 150 resources and have better armour, while Hussars cost 200 and have only ~7 more attack and ~125 more HP when fully upgraded.)

Oprichniks get 2x against artillery with their 42 attack. That's 84 damage per hit.         Cossacks have 59 attack, cost half the population of an oprichnik, and have better ranged armour, allowing them to get to the artillery with less losses. They do 118 damage with the same population usage, while also being more useful then the oprichnik after they clear the artillery.

For Russia, the Musketeers should only be used to build forts, or to get a quick ranged defense. Any other time, strelets, cossacks, halberdiers, or tartar loyalists should be used, depending on what the enemy is using. Strelets are very cost effective, especially once they are fully upgraded. (23 attack, and 202 or 212 HP, for 47.5 resources; a standard Skirmisher costs 110 resources, and is only about 50% more effective.)

Only thing is,  russia only has 101 pop for an army, and strelets may only take up 1 population, but you need a ton of them.   I think that it would be cool if russia had a card that make it so there max population  could be like 230 or 250.  Actually, IMO i think that all civs should have a card like that, or maybe like an upgrade in the capitol thing were you research spies and stuff.
