Ottoman FAST Fortress...need help.
Currently I can get to age 3 in about 7:30 if I do the following: Age I 5 hunt, 1 opens crates. When finished, go to food. Set gather point on wood. Have explorer build one TP. Build one market and upgrade hunting dogs. (I don't know if this is a good use of wood or not...Thoughts?) First shipment 3 settlers. They go to gold. Gather point should still be on wood. Age with 500 food. Age II Send silk road and 700 food. Then send 700 gold. Right now, I need lots of wood. This is the main problem with this strategy. I need wood for houses, barracks, and TPs, which hopefully I have a fair amount to provide a steady stream of supplies. I think the first priority would be the stagecoach which can get me more wood. Anyways, by the time I get the Silk Road shipment and the 700 Food shipment, along with the 700 gold shipment, I should be ready to age (500 age up food+700 crates, 300 gold gathered since Discovery+700 crates.) Age w/ 4 abus. Transition Spam Jans. As soon as the aging is finished, head to enemy base while being upgraded. Is this strategy worth the time and resources? I figured that Veteran Jans would own, but would the be drastically outnumbered? Any tips to get more wood, or to have a faster age time? Should I skip silk road and go ahead and ship the crates to shave some time off the aging process? Tips are welcome!

gather point on wood = bad idea, put all vils on food until you hit the age up button and i don't think you need 3 shipments on colonial, get just 700 gold, mine other 300 gold, put most vils on food and some on wood. as soon as you hit fortress, ship spahis. and don't forget to get the mosque upgrades I think the wood you use on that market could be saved for a mosque. But I'm not a Otto player, I'm just saying what I see others doing.

Remember to get some Spahis, Falconets and abus guns. Pure Jans won't be very good.

Its good, only tips I would suggest you are this: 1. Instead of aging with 500 food, I age up with 1 out post and 200 coin. Get as much coin possible with resources, if you got enough wood/coin, build a market and get hunting dogs upgrade.
2. Send as 2nd shipment 700 coin.
3. Herd (aka send a vill to the closest BIG group of animals, attack em in a way that they will go to your TC (when you attack an animal from 1 side, it will go to the other one, use this as an advantage to make em go to your town center)) And build the outpost near this animals. 4. Dont collect ANY coin with your vills (just gather it from the crates, ofc). Just collect food.
5. It depends what you want to send as 3rd shipment, if your opponent will surely rush you with a big army without much HI, send 2 outposts, then you should send 700 wood.
6. Continue collecting food until you got 1000 food, then send 4 vills to coin, and 5 to wood, the rest are on food.7. Use the 700 wood to build a barrack, artillery foundry (or instead of building it, you can use the wood to get vet jans upgrade and get 1 house more, or vice versa) and 2 houses. 7. In age 3 send as 4th card 5 spahi, use em for mainly raiding. 8. Adapt to the situation. Spam obus if its needed, boom if you think its necessary, etc...

yes, good points
the spahi FF is a very good ottoman FF, and I would send 2 falconets next and defenitely get the settler upgrades, although there are very few circumstances which I would boom, but you have to adapt
Do you use the word "pretentious" in a pretentious manner? The belief of "pretentious" being pretentious might itself be pretentious, but that would than further go to prove that the word "pretentious" is pretentious.

If i decide to ff, i put all my setlers on food with one gathering crates, if on grate plains get the middle TP right away, if not get a TP thats further up the routeso they dont get it. age with 500 food and put 4-5 settlers on gold. first card in colonial should be 700 gold. send wood if you need it, which u probably will to upgrade tp and get houses. you should also get up a barracks before or while you are ageing to age 3. the first card in age 3 is 5 spahi or just the 3 if u cant afford 5. i like to upgrade my jans right into fortress but i would not do this if you are facing a russian or another otto, since you will need to be making troops quick to catch up to them. 3rd card in fortress is 2 cannons to attack, or a fort if you are being attacked and acn hold them off long enough for you to build it. i also have 5 mamalukes in my deck adn 1000 gold if i dont have enough to ship them right away. if you go pure defense and dont attack(you should try to raid though) you can have 8 spahi, 5 mamalukes, 3 hussars(if you shiped them)2 cannons, 4 abus(if you choose them to age up with) about 15 or more upgraded jans and maby a fort in around 15 minutes if you do it good. that is enough to stop any colonial army, even if they greatly outnumber you(massed strelets or with most civs massed muskets) and ifthey age to fortress with a colonial army standing, you can basically waltz into their town, destroy their weaker army(he wont have much recources for reinforcements, especially if he upgraded his units to veteren) then easily take down his buildings then gg.
This is a great strat because the diversity of your military can counter anything, and spahis can demolish muskets and pikes(i wouldnt put them up against massed pikes)plus u have mams and cannons.
FINAL NOTES: once you send as many fortress age cards as u need send silk road and get as many tps as possible. this will carry your eco throughout the rest of the game

deadhanddan:true, if and when i would ff with otto my first age 3 card would be 1000 wood(for my 2nd tc and help with my unique church techs) followed by either a fort or cheaper mosque improvement card(i always ship the unique church improvement card in 2nd age,with cheaper church tech u get 15 jans for only 670 wood-helps in a rush game)
Don't sent 1000w, a fort, and a mosque card as your cards. The enemy's going to be in your base when you reach fortress (if they're a good rusher at least), so you need to send sphais, abus, or jans asap. Then start sending support cards, 2 falcs (I consider them support cause they won't do much if alone), 1000w, 1000f, no need for a fort, it's just for map control, and the cheaper mosque improvement card is pretty much useless because you need 2 cards for it to take effect. It's better to send in resoueces and make the jans. Also, remember that sometimes a semi-ff is better than an ff.
