    Subject: Reinstall issues

    Due to an issue with a patch, I was forced to uninstall and reinstall AOEIII. Unfortunately, the uninstall didn't work properly. Now, upon trying to reinstall the game, the "install" options is missing from the autorun menu, with "uninstall" still in its place.  Clicking uninstall launches a setup wizard that immediately closes.

    Running setup directly from the CD was equally ineffective, launching an installshield notification that loads, reaches "preparing to install," then simply closes as well.

     has anyone else had this issue, and if so, are there any known solutions?

    The only thing I can think of is it never fully uninstalled.  Does it show up in Add/remove programs?

    I'm having the same issue as the topic creator. The program showed up in the Add/Remove Programs menu, and I had tried to uninstall it through that. Unfortunately, it said something to the effect of "*something-or-other* does not exist..." and quit. At that point, the item disappeared from the menu. Everything was still in the Program Files, so I deleted all the files there, then tried again to reinstall with no luck.

    The program name doesn't appear in the add/remove programs list, nor is it still under program files.

    On a hunch, I looked through the software folder in the registry as well, to see if it was lingering there.  Nothing there to speak of.
