I consider myself an authority on this civ in TR 40 and one of the top or the top player with this civ. ATM in TR 40.  Portugal was my first civ. and Spain is one that I am learning now.  I may be able to answer some questions with those civs as well, but lets try to stick to British.

I posted a boom with screen shots and a recording of 2721 at 40, but I am waiting for the moderators to approve of it, I guess to make sure the screen shots are appropriate, etc.

I'm not much of a SUP player. I have played a few times when I couldn't find treaty games, but I stick to TR40.

His place of accomodation is not of importance.

Age 5 can be reached in sub-16 mins if done right, (and yes, I get to age 5 faster with Brits than Kerk :P )

Hello there.  Just to clarify that you are one of the Top TR 40 British Players, what is your rank, win %, and Elorating?

My highest score with the british are only about 1000 less than that Sad.  Around 1850 or so.  So what boom do you suggest the most?  Cow Boom or any other boom?

Thank you for helping out.  Because I play treaty with the british all the time.

Did you know it is possible to arrange livestock pens so that settlers gather livestock almost automatically with minimal micromanagement ?

Do you think its true that falconets are better than horse cannons because they build faster ?

Do you think hussar boxes, similar to dog soldier boxes, are effective ?

    Are grenadiers effective against musketeers?

I am from Georgia (Southeastern United States)

    Well Tomo answered this correctly.

And the aging to 5 with the British isn't nearly as making sure you start maxing your sheep by age 3. A lot of Brits will be ahead of me, hit age 5 sooner than me, and then when I hit age 5 I will pass them in score b/c my sheeps will be already fattened and they just started making theirs. So that is 9k food right there for me (30X300) by the time I reach age 5.

I would take the slower age time and rather have the 9k food by the time I'm aging to imperial.

    Thanks for your question.

His rank and win% and elo don't do him justice.
His Rank is Major now, but he's truly like a Colonel+ with British.

( You should always Cow Boom, go to trtclan.withme.us to register and download ALOT of fantastic Treaty recordings)

    Hi GeorgeCusterd,

In response to your question I am only a Major, level 30-31 and my win % is 50%. My rank and win % is low due to the fact that I play with pretty much anyone on my team and play a lot of games on smurf accounts as well.  However, I have been told I am a Major General + with the British .  I've beaten some very well respected guys in a mirror game and I would say that my rank doesn't do my skill justice in the least.

Yes I suggest a cow boom always. I posted a link and screen shots to my boom , but the moderators haven't approved yet.

    http://www.fileden.com/getfile.php?file_path=http://www.fileden.com/files/2008/9/12/2093375/KerkBritishBoomtake2.age3Yrec

That is a link to my 2721 boom at 40. Just download it, and put it in your saved games folder in your AOE folder.

Download the file, then go to My documents, My games, AOEIII, saved games.

Put it in the saved games folder then launch the game, go to help and tools , and view recorded games. It should be there for you to watch.

    thanks for your questions

Ok thanks.  But . . . I don't really see strategies.  Just screenshots and a little advice on what he did.  So where are the real strategies?  Like it will say at a certain time you should do this and that.

    Thank you.

EDIT:  Ooops didn't see your post you made Kerkumus.  I don't really do recorded games, I like strategies on your screen better.  But, I might be able to do a rec.  It makes my computer slow.

    SacredMooCow Thanks for your questions.

     1. I have my own trick for livestocking that maximizes food intake while making sure you gathering the max. amount of coin as well. I am not sure what you are talking about the auto gather feature with settlers. Can you explain this a little more? Thanks

    2. I never have heard about falconets buidling faster than horse cannon...I think the falconet vs horse cannon issue for the British is preference. I personally use horse cannon b/c I want my artillery to move faster and hit with a harder punch.  But this choice coincides with my aggressive play style.  I wouldn't see anything wrong with choosing falconet over horse artillery if you wished to play more defensive.

    3. I have never personally done a hussar box with the British during fight. I wouldn't see the need to do so and if you had time to do it, you probably are getting owned.  Only way I could see you doing this is maybe in your starting army if you wanted to make 10 hussar and flank his artillery.  I wouldn't see a good Brit using a hussar box in any other point in the game.

    4.  Yes Grens are VERY effective vs infantry of all types. The splash damage, the high hp and damage with the gren upgrades/cards, and the .50 ranged resistance is what makes them dangerous.  A lot of Brits do not utilize this in their army nearly as much as they should. Brits have slow artillery, at most times I will have horse in que, culv in que, and mortar in que, in 3 different foundaries.  However, I will have a 4th artillery foundary if I need quick grens to mix with my muskets. Grens+muskets own infantry.

For example. In my anti portugese army, for the first battle I am assuming a port will use, 5 organs, 5 culvs, cassadores, goons, + church army.

My counter to this is muskets (for meat shield and anticav), grens, 8 culvs, +church army (26 skirms, 8 highlanders).  This army will OWN a portuguese starting army.

With the 8 cuvls you shoot his 5-6 culvs that he will have. You then take out his organs with your culvs. You let your grens own his infantry with the muskets acting as a meatshield to protect from hussar spam.  After his army is dead, you walk your grens up to his fb and start owning it.

It has worked 100% for me in every fight vs a port in the first battle. No one has stopped it yet.

    Thanks for your questions SacredMooCow.

Well I feel that recorded games is key to becoming a better player. My boom isn't the same every time due to map layout. The times are not the same each game either due to map layout. You have to adapt each time to make it work for you. I don't have much time to write it all out, but I will ask Sacred Moo Cow to do a break down of this boom since he is very detailed and meticulous about this. I got a paper to write. I will get back to you on this.

    Thanks GeorgeCusterd for your question.
