 Both op, both have strong ecos.

and just spam cuirassirs and ashi

and win.

but more or less any op civ w/ another op civ is the best combo.

France and France.  Neither can be beaten.  France/Japan is number two.

Of the non-ops, it might be Ports/Spain, simply because they cover each other's weaknesses and both have kick@$$ militaries.

u can beat curissars cause dopples **** all cav and even massed infantry, when in close anyways, pluss ports have very good military when it comes to anti infantry

1) France's eco is that much greater than portugal's.

2) I said france, not cuirs alone.  France could beat either portugal or germany, no problem.  Keep in mind that france has a strong skirm, fast and strong artillery, above average infantry and cavalry, 20 extra mili pop, strong natives, and THEN the gendarme.  There's a reason that france is the strongest civ.

i cant argue with u there but people who play as french i dont applaud when they win just because its that easy to win with france

exactly why I never play france unless it's one of those lame games where everyone goes japan/france.  Also, I like boom contests with france, not really sure why.

You asked for the strongest team though, and there you have it 

Strongest non-ops I consider to include every but france/russia/japan/china.  Therefore, I would say port/spain works the best.

been tons of threads like this and in the past ive gone with the most op tandem as best combo.   but today id have to say major rank or higher the combo of sioux aztec is the best combo.   on andes of coarse because thats what you all play

fyi not all of us like andes and im tired of hearing that jap/french combo cause if u take out japs wonders then there done then u just have the french to worry about

Reminds me of the pinnacle of Treaty in TWC when every game you went to had France + Russia vs. whatever noobs were stupid enough to play.

In the non-OP civs, I have to agree with Port/Spain or Port/Germans. The latter being my favorite. India/British also works well.

aztec is a very good team civ. Together with iros they can hardly be stopped.

Mass Erks with light cannon/skirm is deadly, and lets not forget the HUUUGE eco they wil get. 

I and my friend have settled on a good combo - Russians and Chinese.

love it when a french spams the usual curr to my walls and my russian friend throws out halb/cav archer combo!

 It maybe doesnt make sense but the way I look at it, if you know your weaknesses (chinese owned by french heavy cav) you pretty much know what to expect when you play, therefore your at an advantage. You (70% of the time) know whats coming and can devise a strategy to counter. Make sense?
