    Subject: Japan with new patch?
Hi wat exactly happened to Japan with the new patch I looked at the patch notes and it says...

    Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0cm 5.4pt 0cm 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0cm; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;}

    ·    Japan

    o Toshogu Shrine

§ Bonus to shrines reduced to x1.5 down from x2.33

    o Consulate ‘Isolation’ choice

§ Reduced bonus damage to 5% down from 10%

    o Ashigaru Musketeer

§ Ranged attacks reduced to 24 down from 26

Does that mean that Japan is alot weaker now? If so by how much
Like does the toshogu shrine bonus to shrines reduced to x1.5 down from x2.33 have much effect how much less resources now do u get like per minute or something.

And the reduced damge to 5% from 10% how does that effect your army? as well as lowered attack from 26 to 24 on musks only. Does it make a huge difference?

Also another question with the diaymo( how ever you spell it)
when you make units from then is it possible to send them to a point like a barracks cause they just stand around the diaymo/horse and ever time you make some units you have to move them out and move your diaymo. Like maby I could acheieve this with a hotkey  or something? Any thoughts?

Plus any other advanced/expert tips to do better with japan? Like get your teamate to make sheep and send them to your shrines in a treaty would help a lot I would think. Just any tips thanks.

the difference makes quite a difference early game, later on, they start to get smaller and japan is neraly as good as in ES 1.01a patch. especially the stacking unit upgrades are not too different to before, directly comparing ES 1.01a and RE 1.02.

about the daimyo, you can't the units spawn where your daimyo stands. there is no rallye point you can set while selecting the daimyo

Thanks, so the patch doesnt effect japan that great in a 40min treaty compared to a rush? because i worked it out and i think it was about 3 more damage each musk could do before the patch. In a rush each kill is cruticul with small slow spawning armies but in a treaty where your army is always pumping out its not gonna really matter? You may get an extra 3 kills massing your army before the patch? And cause the damage is really over 3 difference its probaly missed cause of over kills shoots?

    Any discusion.

well next time you post about "late game" try posting it in the treaty section. Second yes japan is now actually beatable but they are still overpowered in the early game. Late game a few kills comes down to your skill. They were overpowered across the board so you losing 3 kills will not affect you much. Dont worry about losing a few kills or even over kills which happen all to often xD but is kinda realistic....

Japan still has a strong unit in the ashi and well needs a tiny nerf somewhere xD.

Next time i play japan i will go out with a villie and kill all the herds on his side of the map..... damn with the shrines they get tooo much eco.

I think the Ashi is just fine now. A lot of you don't even realize that the Sepoy is strong than it now. Sepoy= 25 attack 190 Hp. Ashi= 24 attack 170 Hp. And they both cost 170 resources. I'm one of the few people that actually thinks this patch makes Japan significantly weaker. I would say the Toshogu shrine definitely applies to late game and makes shrine bounty less. They still get a lot, and I think either the Shrine limit should be decreased or the gather rates. However both of these are unlikely especially since ES made gather rates better for shrines before because they thought they were UP. I can never understand the "stacking" matter. The Golden Pavilion is just like an Arsenal what's so OP about that. Sure it has a passive ability that gives a boost but lower that instead of worrying about upgrades. I guess I understand that some military upgrade cards are a little OP like the Yumi in age 3 gives 2 more ranged attack which seems too much.

None of my posts have spaces in them because these forums delete my spacing after I post. I have posted on different computers, using different forms of internet and the problem persists.

Ashi are still way too powerful late game, they easily steamroll their counters as well as artillery. Pretty impressive for what is supposed to represent farmboy conscripts that are only part time soldiers..

    1) That's one reason why japan is still Op in treaty.  It's the stacking.

    2) I bet artillery with a meatshield does just fine.

Japan ashi laming is indeed weaker now.  Dual rax xbow pike now stands a chance.

u do realize that brit musks in colonial with full upgrades are the most powerful and i play japan, though they may not be so powerful in 2age but their 3age still rapes ass. shrines are still as worthy as vils with animals.

sepoy is more powerful than ashis, but i tested india tow dual rax spam and a new japan dual rax ashi spam and japan gets far more ashis by 15 min, but at 10 min they are about the same.

brit musk with ups is 187 hp and 29 attack which equivalent in colonial to both fully upgraded ashis or sepoys, with 20 less res and best boom out the 3 :D

Its a pitty that this has happend, because i love Japanese culture and history, and i will be going there in a few theres, for a school trip. I say they should have a villie max at most 70 maybe 65. Ashi hp also might need to be lowered to 165.

extra pop space as japan is a boost , not a nerf. high hp muskets should always have lower attack to compensate the hp, just like the jannisarie. problem with india and japan is their absurd muskets and OP eco, combined with bushido+daimyo makes japan an unbalanced monster that is impossible to win vs. unless in a mirror match. everyone should remember WCG 2008 : the one unit spamming mirror match fest that it was

Aye you have a point there. They have dug a hole for japan, less vills more pop space more vills higher econ. unless they make ashi have 80food/40coin/180 hp/25 attack .20 HR/2 pop space?

Lets put it this way, 1vs1 a person of the same rank(ok same level if AOE abilities) one using japan one using any other civ. Japan civ user should win (we are talking same skill lvl not rank xD).

Japan and india, india has a very strong sepoy(HI), a 2nd age LI in the gurka, strong cav at least against villies.... both civs need a nerf bad at least in the early game, late game i dont care what they have. Japan has shrines(only way to counter is to kill all herds out there) and 5000 food cerry fields that are easy to protect. All in all if they have a mine and a few trees close by it is impossible to through off their eco, and very hard to beat their military. All this is is a steam engine rolling down a hill straight into you and you have to stop it with all you got to win.
