    Subject: Art Folder

Ummm, guys, its just that, I had a little problem when uninstalling a mod. I, accidentally, deleted some files of the art folder.

Could someone, please, e-mail me (my e-mail is ITG765@yahoo.com.mx) all the files located in the art folder (keep in mind that I am using TAD 1.02)?

Or just try using any website you want where I could download it.

Note: I do not need the art bars. MAYBE my art bars are somewhat edited, but, those things are just too big, and would take a lot of time to be loaded, would also probably give you some problems when sending/uploading the folder. I do need everything else of the art folder though (Well, not everything, but, just to see what I need).

    Thank you.

I know, but, as I dont remember the files of the art folder did I exactly lose, I will need all of it, to be sure and dont miss anything.

Luckily, I still can play online, but, things like my UI are messed up, now, I can't see not even the export when playing as an asian civ.

The art files are much too large to email.

Try reinstalling the game using your discs, or borrow some from a friend.

Not necessarily via e-mail, I just stated that as an option.

And yes, I know that at such situations the best would be to re-install, but...

Its just that, I got like 20 mods installed on my game, I find them all helpfull and interesting as an extra add to my AOE3, and it would be really hard to find them all again, and re-install them. Also, the last times I uninstalled my aoe3, I had failed to join game issue for more than a month (in both occassions), and I fear it will happen again. Probably not, but I dont want to go through such a risk once again.

If I cant do anything else I would re install all my game, of course, but, for now, the easiest thing would be to just send me the art folder via e-mail or let me download it from a specific site. Your help is very appreciated, as always, but, this time, it doesn't solve my problem.

Just backup the files you plan to edit... and rember to remove them and replace them when u wish to unistall the mods (note: do this when age is not running) thats all there is to it.  If u edit an expansion pack and cant resolve a problem, you may find that reinstalling will not fix the issue and you may be required to unistall all expansions and the original age of empires 3 game.

Before I mod my game I make sure that all the files I plan on editing are backed up in a seperate folder.  And if I get CRC mismatch or want to unistall the mods and I have forgotten what files I edited then I just replace all the files in the directory with my backed up files.

I hope all this makes sense.

Sounds like you have no option but to unistall the expansion pack my friend.  If you can't get hold of the discs, be sure to use a backup Age of Empires virtual image and mount it on your computer and reinstall it that way

    :)

yeah, I know, what I did was a terrible mistake, first time experiencing after 2 years of deleting and modifying files, though.

And I DO have an option. Just let me download the art from somewhere or e-mail me it.

I already stated the reasons why I dont want to re-install my game. I dont want to do it again. I would prefer continue playing with my messed UI, the black screen that appears when loading a game, and some other issues rather than re-installing all my 3 aoe3 games once again.

Now, can someone please help me with an art folder instead of constantly repeating the same stuff I known before I even created this thread?

    Thanks in advance.

Dont Know, shouldn't be that big, as I dont have it complete at all, I could say it precisely. I dont think it will be bigger than 1 GB if not counting the art bars.

    Something:

I do not need the art bars.

I know that those things are too big, and would take a lot of time to load. It would be quite handy if it was all the art folder, but, those things are just too big, and I dont think I ever deleted any/anything of them.

Why not just install the game again in another directory? Then you could copy the files you need from the new art folder to your corrupted one. Then uninstall if needed.

    It wont let me:

Once a game is installed, you got just as option to uninstall it. You cant install the same game 2 times in the same computer, or at least I dont know how to.

There really isn't a way of getting your files unless you reinstall the game.
