I have a problem when playing this game. I have a new ATI 256MB Radeon 9550 Video card installed and when playing this game this screen will just go black. It happens at different times and no one thing seems to make it happen. As a matter of fact the monitor turns off because it is getting no signal at all. I have to turn off my machine and reboot it in order to get the video back. I exceed all the requirements on my computer for playing this game, I've updated my drivers and did a Windows update. Screen is set for 1024 x 768 and a refresh of 75HZ. Any ideas? Thanks

Unfortunately, it sounds like you are having hardware problems. I would guess that the card is overheating and shutting down. Have you tried any other graphic intensive games on this new card? If so, it should happen on any of them. You can also try putting age in the lowest display settings. This should reduce the processing done on the video card and keep it from heating up too fast.

i have the same problem and i have an ok system.

 its a bug somewhere but i can,t find it.

 my system works ok (its all new bought it for this game lol)with all my games except a my favorit one.

 all works fine no lagg at all till 1 to 3 min in game then my screen gose black my monitor looses signal and i need to reboot my comp.

 

i saw some post excactly the same as mine but no good answer.

 

things i tried already:

 

low graphics made sure all my software was up to date but please if you got an idea of something i may have overlooked please post.

 

i tried to put my virus scanner of, read about all on this forum and on age sanctuary and microsoft games help.

 i,m trying to get it to work for 8 hours now, and i,m starting to loose hope lol.

 it must be a bug somewhere because i saw some post with excactly the same problem.

i can play it on windowed mode its better then nothing but it still sucks.

 

please be my hero and find this bug/problem.

what video card do you have?

i have a RADEON 9800 PRO

it doesn,t run on windowed mode anymore now. but its not the videocard other games work.

please someone come with the briliant solution.

it still isn,t solved right now when it happens my comp restart on itself.

 

still nobody with a possible solution ?

finally i,ve seen an error message it says this, VPU has reset your grapics accelerator as it was no longer responding to driver commands.

 i tried different drivers already so that not the problem i think.

 does anyone have an idea how to fix this ?

same prob here.... in order to figure out some details:

I use:

Win XP x64

8800GTX with forceware 169.21

apperantly issue started after I updated following programs on may 4th:

- Windows

- TuneUp Utilities 2008

- AVAST Antivirus

 

Have you done anything I did?

in below post, we're actually trying to figure out thr rootcause of "black-screen monitor signal loss"....

Issue seems to hvae started occuring recently (end of april) .... 

Just a guess, but could it be related to an update for Windows XP / Windows XP x64?
