    Subject: Unusual Lag Outs

I am not talking about drop tricking.

Lately my router has been losing connection for like 30 seconds which results in me lagging out of games. This has barely ever happened before, but now it's getting to a point where I cannot finish a game. I am really upset about it, I wanna play!

Any ideas on how I can stop this from happening?

P.S. Could it be bad weather even though my router is not wireless?

I hate it when people blame me for lag and try to get me banned!

Try powering down your router for 20-30 minutes (just keep it unplugged) and then plug it back in.

I did try that (except for about 2 hours). It has been overcast and raining this weekend, would that affect my ADSL (not wireless) or is my ISP screwing up?

Dang the EXACT same thing is happening to me. My router usually does not do this but the last 2 or 3 weeks it lags and stuff for like 30 seconds and then i frickin lag out. Its so annoying.

I feel your pain. My connection status is now lying to me, even though it did disconnect during a game it says it's been connected all along. BTW, has your weather been a bit cloudy/rainy?

My laptop has the power to lag out other players with its own lag. Thats how good it is.

this sounds like a firmware issue on the router that maybe needs an update.  try this first.

or, in some cases a combo router/modem is the problem.

use a separate modem and router and all should be good.

combo setups of modem/routers have allways been finicky on this game once a certain amount of info is reached it lags out. ive even heard that once this happens some players are still able to converse ingame but are actually lagged out. sounds weird but it was a problem not too long ago with certain setups.

post a dxdiag report which can be done by going to

You can diagnose and resolve DirectX problems using the DirectX Diagnostic Tool and the Multimedia and Games Troubleshooter. The DirectX Diagnostic Tool helps you test the functionality of DirectX, to diagnose problems, and to adjust the level of hardware support used by DirectX, which can be used to avoid issues on some multimedia drives. The DirectX Diagnostic Tool (Dxdiag.exe) is installed with DirectX and can be run by clicking Start, clicking Run, and then typing dxdiag. For information about using the DirectX Diagnostic Tool, click the Help button in the DirectX Diagnostic Tool.

also needed is your exact configuration. models names and numbers if they dont appear in the dxdiag report.

save the report to your documents and post it here.

Omg have you guys played gobblinlord.

He is the most obsessed PR freak ever. i joined his game and he kicked me instantly. So naturally i asked him why through whisper and he was like 'to high'. Not only that though he abused the crap out of me, then pests me. It's like WTF?!

That kid Gobblinlord needs a good kick in the nuts so he can no longer contribute to the gene pool.
