AgeSanctuary FanPatch 1.1a
We all know Age Sanctuary has made a fan patch, which improves balance and maps. Tired of getting lamed by Japan, Iroquois and India? Annoyed by those pesky map screws? The FanPatch is for you. Easy to install, easy to play. The general balance is very good (there are a few minor imbalances however), and you have the competitive map set, which is made of maps that have very little chance of map screwing you.
Installing the FanPatch
Upgrading to FP 1.1a can be done in 3 easy steps.
-Make sure your version of TAD has been upgraded to the Robot Entertainment patch 1.02.
-Download and install version 18 of the TAD Patch Launcher.
-Extract/Unzip fan patch version 1.1a to the folder where you keep your fan patches. (Which will usually be My Documents/My Games/Age of Empires III/Fan Patches). The file: http://viper.sanctuary-network.com/fp11a/as11a.zip I cannot go into the finer details, but if you have any questions or comments, say so here and I will answeR.

How does balance take the fun out of the game? Isn't it more fun to be able to play normally without OP civs? How do you know no one plays the FP, have you ever tried it? Do you know what balance is?
Bridarshy, there may be a few imbalances, but I think that UP Ottos and UP natives is better than OP Iroquois, OP India, OP Japan, UP Ports, UP Spain, broken Sioux, broken Otto, UP natives, and bad maps. And as "OP" as France is, most civs can compete with France. Which patch is really better? I might even add that both Otto & Natives will be boosted in FP1.2 and France will be nerfed..

ottos aren't UP, natives aren't UP, and france isn't OP. there's a difference between low tier civ and UP, and a difference between top civ and OP. in RE patch iro aztec india and japan are simply unbeatable, it's a lot worse than FP 1.1 which is the most balanced this game has ever been. besides, on FP at your level balance is not yet an issue since no one knows how to optimally use a civ's strengths. i can definitely imagine nooby majors laming indian sepoy rush or iro toma rush though.

come on incognoto that fanpatch sucks and does not improve anything, the new maps are crap and you broken many civs. plus it divides the players. btw NR20 is even more for noobs than supremacy. but at least it's fun :)

thats my TAD, my nilla is Master segreant which i'm happy to stay at, and btw the only reason it is that is becuase i lost a few games wid a mate, and if you look at my last games, you'll see they were against lieuts, i dont find it fair i lose like 10 PR for losing 2 games v lieuts, but you win some you lose some, i dont go bragging about winning do i Bridarshy?
