    Subject: Language accuracy

So I've always wondered in Age of empires 1 and 2 what the heck people were saying (like when you comand a unit)

Then in age of empires 3 most of the languages were up to date. I speak spanish, swiss(interchangable with german), english and, chinese (Mandarin) so I noticed those Civ where acually speaking the langauge correctly (well execpt the british they still speak funny).

What i'm getting at is does anyone speak turkish or japanese or anything else, and are they speaking correctly or did the designers just have them speaking, jiberish.

well the british speak correctly but i heard from a thread they are speaking like middle latin or middle english or something :P but i would say that all the civs speak accurately

Well Dutch is good too. Not the Dutch used in that time though, but well I can understand ES was too dumb to know that... (and a 14 year old guys does know it wut ? )

EDIT: I also think the French are speaking correct french, with oui, très bien and Chasseur, but I'm not totally sure since my French is kinda crap.

Oui, Bonjour, and obviously alattack.(however you spell that)Are most likely correct for the french. The only Japanese I know is...Nani?(is that how you spell it)And that means "What"So I know that's correct...

as far as I can tell, their Russian is correct.

In age of empires two I know the Teutons are speaking either East Germanic (AKA Gothic) or West Germanic. I also know that the Celts are speaking Cornish or Manx, the Byzantines are speaking Medieval Greek, and I know for a fact that the Persians are speaking old Persian.

well first we should probs figure out what language the iros are supposed to speaking, as theres a lot of somewhat different langauges spoken by 6 tribes that joined the confederation. i think we can rule out the tuscarrora(sp?) tho because they joined late.

Maybe we could ask Aloysius, who could ask the people who made the game?
