I think I might like DM.  I got some questions.

Is collecting resources still important on DM?  Reason I ask is because I just did a quick-play of DM and I aged up to Age IV, upgraded everything (that I knew of), made a large army and STILL had a stockpile of resources leftover.

What is common in DM?  Like in Sup everyone obviously gets 800 food, ages up asap, always has a villie in produ, etc, etc... is it like this in DM?  Or is it different?

Should I build lots of Rax, Stabs, and Art Founds?

Just anything you think I should know.

Here's how everyone used to play deathmatch back when I was #2 elo on TAD:

Start with church, houses, and lots of stables, barracks, and a couple artillery founderies. Build outposts at front to send shipments to...

Research Mercantilism, research the unit training speed upgrades ASAP, send out factories too.

Be sure to get Lakota/Cheyenne settlements (everyone used to play on Great Plains, not sure if it's the same now), and reserach training speed increase.

You can then make cavalry instantly, so spam dragoons like mad, while backing up with skirms/cannons.

Push and win. Very simple. :)

You will have to build an eco in the background depending on your strategy however I never used to as I was able to end games around 5-10 minutes in by pushing with dragoons/mortars really hard.



I would assume it's the same today. I haven't played for a couple years because my expansion disc broke... I've just recently purchased it again on Steam though. :D

Oh Man I remember my days of DM Where I just lame Germany with War Wagons + Uhlans...Or just lame French with Gendarmes. Those were insta-wins I loved that so much..

And almost every post in the deathmatch forum is a necrobump because of the lack of traffic it receives.
