jayve98:ELEPHANTS NOT THAT GOOD? ARE YOU STUPID?
+∞ Elephants are awesome, 3 mahouts can take on like 50+ skirmishers, and howdahs are multipurpose they kill musketeers as good as cavalry and they have good siege. Siege elephants are good as well, they do about 700-800 damage each shot to buildings and have a multiplier vs artillery. Flail elephants are also somewhat good but dont use them a lot (usually have only 3-5 out for pesky walls) while main army attacks. Edit: on some maps they train very fast (Great plains andes unknown) , and monks give them speed aura Edit2: Mansabdar units are very good, but cant build bases (mansabdar sepoy) but try to keep them out at all times. And jayve, is it wise to use inspiration on 1st battle ive seen many people use it

Dopellsolder:Dude Ive written that theyre not so good - that means ele are good but not so. They take about 5 pop and cost about 500 resources. Good for supporting but bad for main power - your eco will drain quickly.
Lol he means that you need only a few elephants not a "13-mahout box" for siege that's terrible

Re: Indian advantages and disadvantages
India is not worth using off andes, any good player will feast on them on andes itself and its worse off andes. Only civs they ccan beat off andes are probably aztec and maybe otto. On andes, they are a really good team civ. you can't play them like you play a euro civ. You need to have a different mindset. Map control is crucial. Mahouts and Howdas are good; Flail are good at what they do (flank and kill buildings fast). Seige arent the good when you are trying to push into your enemy base b/c culvs can easily kill them.

Ozn is right, you cant play them like euro civs. this is where I fail. Advantages: Very good at map control. Very good at running.
Can last a very long time off their fur trade. Disadvantages: Can't fight heads up against almost any civ.
Can't support natives for more than 1 minute before running out of food. regardless of 103 vills on food. Mahouts get stuck very easy in tight situations. Can't deal with a good amount of artillery. Seige eles are bad.

Re: Indian advantages and disadvantages
@Dopp Still is defined as: | Adjective: | | Not moving or making a sound: "the still body of the young man". |
| | | Noun: | - Deep silence and calm; stillness: "the still of the night".
- An apparatus for distilling alcoholic beverages such as whiskey.
|
| | | Adverb: | | Without moving: "the sheriff commanded him to stand still and drop the gun". |
| | | Verb: | Make or become still: "she raised her hand, stilling Erica's protests"; "the din in the hall stilled". None of those make sense for training eles. particularly the one that grammatically correct, which is an adjective. To respond to the thread, Ozn and Stefan have pretty much said everything. Siege eles aren't that great because their range is too short to counter culvs effectively, and they don't do well enough vs inf (especially since they have a light cav tag for some reason) |
