Hey guys! At the AoE3 Wiki it is said that the Chu-Ko-Nu fires 3 arrows at once. Would that mean that it would make 135 damage to heave infantry?? (3x vs heavy infantery * 3 arrows)

I think all shots hit with the same damage.  The idea of inflicting 'damage' on another is really a way to make up for the inaccuracy of real life situation.  In real life, a gunshot would probably kill the guy but there is the chance that he misses.  That is hard to do in an algorithm, so you make each shot inflict 'damage' and then a certain amount of damage kills the guy. You can then configure it the hit/attack points depending on teh unit and weapon.

I think the only time AOE has done something with accuracy is with the trebuchet? But I never really looked into it.

I guess you've never heard of Cossacks (2000-2001). Every unit had a 1/25 chance of firing a lethal shot although all shots were still guaranteed hits.

American Conquest (2001? still really old) took things a lot further with shots being able to miss and the damage dealt being decreased with distance. Add in the realistic 1 minute reloading time and most here would find the realism of American conquest very frustrating. I wish all the best features of AC, such as the 16000 unit limit, garrisoning, forts, blockhouses, burning buildings, formations, could be combined with the quality of AOE3.

Tbh stuff like that makes a game random and stupid. gameplay is more important once you find out that its all about getting enough lethal hits early on to win a battle.

You clearly wrote "That is hard to do in an algorithm" which is obviously a load of crap.

There is a bug where if the game is recorded, the aura affects all units or something... otherwise, just monks.

If you watch longbows you will notice that they miss sometimes. I don't know the percent though.

Cannons can also miss if the unit changes course. In the scenario editor you can slow down cannonball speed and watch what happens. The cannons fire ahead of the unit so the ball and the unit will meet at the same place, but if the unit stops or changes direction the cannonball will hit the ground.
