...they discussed moving from a “Free to Play with paid DLC” model, to a more “true Free to Play” model where anything you could unlock faster with real money will be earnable by playing the game.

IMO, sucks for anyone who's bought premium content.

Actually, works out very well for them generally. They keep their content, plus have 500EP to spend on whatever they want now. Season pass holders get a very good deal too - they continuously get EP over time.
