    Would it be a good idea to age quickly for a rush , then just mine gold and make saloon units

    with brits or dutch its somewhat viable. it can't be your only game plan though, you have to have a backup plan

    i only use them for counter rush when my army is dead and i have extra pop room

    I'm crap at the game so I'll probably sound stupid . Wouldn't age 2 saloon units be better than age 2 barracks / stable units?

    I don't know if the gold and the pop it costs worth it, also they arent that stronger at colonial.

    40 attack with renegado + 18 range is a lot better than xbows or musket renegados are 90 coin(cheaper cost total resources) and pistoleros are pretty good as well. Comancheros, however are USELESS! also the thugee is pretty decent(low hp though) but has multiplier vs inf

    It's used as an anti rush, not rush. That's why you think it sucks. But it does sort of suck imo.
