    Subject: Cannot join ESO

    When launching the game, if I click to go on ESO it tells me I need to have an account (I do) but then it comes up and says there was a error and I need to reinstall.

     I did download the gold edition, but I installed each version using my own CD keys that I got when I purchased the games. The installations went fine up to the point of going online.

     Years ago Disk 1 for vanilla and when I got a new computer I need that disk to install it. I'm not buying a new copy although if it ever goes on sale on steam I might get it that way, all I am missing is disk 1.

     Would I be able to download the demo for vanilla and activate it with my cd key, or should installing using my proper keys work. If nothing works I'll just play singleplayer. 

     Some might flame for downloading it but I have had this game longer then most of the people on this forum anymore.

    You won't be able to get it to work with a pirated version of the game, regardless of whether you are using legitimate CD keys. Piracy is illegal even if you've already owned the game, and I frankly don't care whether you've had the game longer than I.

    I believe you can request replacement media at Microsoft: http://support.microsoft.com/gp/mediareplacement/

    Not quite, its gray here if it is for personal use only.  

     

    Thanks anyways, I'll stick to SP until I see it on sale.

    Gotta say its a little dumb to decide not to use multiplayer/pay more money for a game when all you have to do is go to their website, call them and give them basic info proving you do own the game.

    And its not a gray area,  downloading an unlicensed version of the game for personal use is still illegal. There's a reason they provide free media replacement.
