Swiss Pikeman,

I love them, because I'm from Switzerland.
In a no rush game I was losing, but I had 24 Swiss Pikemans, while my other soldiers were fighting my Swiss Pikes attacked the opponents town center, OK I lost the game, but I destroyed the Town Center. xD

actually if done well it can be good (because mercs have super HP). i have seen some one from the comm do it very well (with china i think) and he won.

:) was a joke strat tho, would never do it in a real game.

Also @ Jerom I'm not gonna favourite a unit type that I hate... I just hate pikes in general. My fav unit type would be RI but I do like mams a lot. They are just sooo badass, And I thought on AOE2 they couldn't get any cooler... they just did :P

How has no one said Ninjas yet? How can Ninjas possibly not be your favourite merc? I mean... cmon... Ninjas! They go invisible and run like cavalry.

My favorite outlaw is the pistolero/renegado these guys are awesome early on.

Favorite mercenary is either Fusilier or Mameluke(i have seen them get as much health as mahouts and good attack)

Edit: Black riders are also nice

ronin hands down is the best with a few culverns if needed they are unbeatable in big numbers
