&lt;P&gt;After yet another defeat by the ottomans i decided to try a nation that seemed almost made to counter them, the Dutch. This Strat is only in its beginning stages and can be&amp;nbsp;countered by good players, but it still works against the majority os people i have play so far. The numbers are the order you do stuff in which is why there are&amp;nbsp;more than one of&amp;nbsp;some.&amp;nbsp;Here goes...&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;U&gt;Start (age 1)&lt;/U&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;1) Put 2 villagers on crates the rest on hunting.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;1) Using the starting gold make 3 settlers.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;2) When the villagers finish collecting crates build a house and market&amp;nbsp;with one, put the other on food.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;3) Age up with 400 wood politian, this will be quite fast compared to other nations.^&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;NOTE: Don't bother using the 3 villager card or any other because it will arrive when you are nearly at Colonial, rather save it.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;U&gt;Transit&lt;/U&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;1) Put 6 villagers on food, 4 on wood.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;2) Make a house (or if you got lots of wood from treasures/map make 2)&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;U&gt;Colonial Age&lt;/U&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;1) Gather the wood with 2 villagers (the ones on wood). When they collect enough make a bank.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;2) Send 700 wood card. When collected enough, make a second bank.3) Using the gold you now get make villagers. (assign with ratio 2:1, food and wood)&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;3) Build a barracks ,and when you have enough wood, a stable.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;3) Send the 700 food card.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;4) Start making skirmishers, if you see your oppenent make grenadiers or abus guns make hussars. If you see the enemy make cav get pikes.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;At this point you should have a pretty good economy (banks equal about 8 villagers so you should have about a 30 villager economy) and your army counters your enemy nicely. I'm working on what to do after this so I will post soon. Feel free to criticise my strat, but please don't just spam rubbish.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;I have kinda moved on from the strat I posted to a more leveled 16 vil age up semi-FF. Ruyters cannons and skirms are quite tough to beat for ottomans. Generally I find the Dutch only useful aginst the Ottomans.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;On the note of banks, I recently had another thought: Dutch villagers cost gold -&amp;gt; Banks produce infinite gold = Dutch get a steady flow of unraidable villagers. &lt;P&gt;i think that with my experience in the game microsoft has made a mistake. With dutch you can only make 50 settlers and 8 banks(it surprised me that most people don't know how to build more than 6). If you try a no rush game (40 mins for example) you'll see that 8 banks don't worth as 50 settlers gathering coin. If you want to survive in a game like this, you have to put 20 more of your settlers on plantations and only 30 on food. If you compare this with other civs that can make 99 settlers(like british and russians) it doesn't make sense. With civs like these you put 40 or 50 settlers gathering food on mills(depending on your needs) and make much more food -obviously- than 30 settlers with dutch.Conclusion, dutch's economy can not be compared to other civs and microsoft has made it unfair.............&lt;/P&gt;

You are actually wrong because the dutch can have 10 banks, even with vannila. They also can have tulip speculation, increasing bank production to 3.15&amp;nbsp;gold a second. The way to get ten banks is the 4 you start out with, 2 from the bank of rotterdam and amsterdam cards, 2 from the capitol coin upgrade, and 2 from coffee trade researched at the coin with Religious Freedom. That equals to 31.5 gold a second, or equal to 45 villagers. &lt;P&gt;So you can have 150 ruyeters running around, I doubt there is something in plain field will be able to defeat 150 reyeters on their own.
