I have seen many people argue on which are the OPest civs in DM. Imho:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;1st russia, really easy to rush, raid, spam inf... and they have a really good win ratio to back up that claim. They kind of lack proper ranged cav, but they don't really need it to be the top civ. I kind of hate them just because they're so easy. At top levels they aren't &lt;i&gt;that&lt;/i&gt; good since people actually know how to play most other civs, but they still are most definitely a top civ.&lt;br&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;2nd ports. amazing mortar range + amazing goon range. Even in DM those goons can micro good enough. Add a few cassas and the combo becomes lame as hell. Probably the best civ at 35++&lt;br&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;3rd dutch. Its really easy to spam banks once the game starts, which gives you an amazing eco boost by the first 5 mins, which easily outbooms most civs. Ruyters are cool, but not really amazing in DM. If you know how to defend early on (which isn't really hard with instant ruyters) you should do good enough.&lt;br&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;4th germs. War wagons. Nuff' said. They don't have other qualities to back themselves up - but WWs are just so good they don't actually need them. Probably the 2nd easiest civ.&lt;br&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;5th spain. Instant tercios + unction. Maybe should be 4th, Idk, I haven't played them, nor against them, enough times to remember how good tercios are vs ranged cav spams. Which is a shame since unction is pretty fun. IMHO the best non-OP civ.&lt;br&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;6th france. Gendarmes are still pretty good, sometimes even against ranged cav. They can be really competitive against civs without proper anti cav. Otherwise they don't have much to back themselves up.&lt;br&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;7th sioux. Really underated civ, bow riders are pretty cool, if you know how to add tepees you should do good enough. Losses to dumb 1 min cav rushes, but, then again, games are unrated if you resign before the 2 min mark. Depend a lot on the fire pit and even more so in your skill.&lt;br&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;8th brits. Really meh, the manor boom is too slow in DMs, and their military is mediocre in early game too.&lt;br&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;9th Iros. Extremely underrated. The early 30 tommas are much better than those 6 minutemen. Unfortunately, games aren't rated before the 2 min mark so many people just resign if you're planning to do one of the quickest rush of DM MUs - at the same time said rule helps you out (any early quick cav rush would beat them). Really vulnerable to good hand cav and early ranged cav spams. They depend a lot on fire pit too. Require a fair amount of skill to be played seriously.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;Anything below this point isn't viable to be played at 25++ 1v1s. At least not in GP.&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;10th China. If your opponent doesn't do the early ranged/hand cav spam, you can still do good enough to actually win. Their military isn't outworldly in early game and they're kinda vulnerable to hand cav too. The lack of mercantilism hurts them a lot, otherwise they would actually be a somewhat competitive civ.&lt;br&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;11th Ottos. Crappy military, crappy ranged cav, no cav training card, really slow to boom with... There's little to back this guys up IMHO.&lt;br&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;12th Aztecs. Crappy military (their "good" military trains so slow it hurts - and it's expensive enough not to be viable at all... yay), no proper cav, and their units train just too slow. Really vulnerable to rushes, but at the very least they got guard pikes. Require a lot of skill to be played. The only point to back aztecs up is the early 18 (?) prowler rush. However it makes most people resign, making the game unrated. Their "late game" is however interesting. In Andes they become more competitive, but they're still just too slow to actually be a competitive civ.&lt;br&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;13th India. Cav trains too slow, howdahs aren't actually that good as you'd expect.. you seriously need the proper cards early on, which you can't get as you have no mercantilism. As the game progresses they don't become any better.&lt;br&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;14th japan. The lack of mercantilism, fast unit training, early export and wonders hurt them shitless. They requiere at least 10 mins to be a proper civ to challenge, and even then they really suck to be honest.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; It's like the guys who designed TAD completely forget there was another game type other than supremacy. &lt;P&gt;Why would I want to play with the Sioux, you ask?&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;For one, they start off with 200 pop! So your villagers dont have to waste their time building houses.&amp;nbsp; Second, their warchief is on horseback, so you can claim all of the trade posts very fast.&amp;nbsp; Third, they have all the units you could need. War clubs replace pikemen, Cetan bows replace crossbows, wakina rifles replace skirmishers.&amp;nbsp; They are also very diversified in their cavalry.&amp;nbsp; They have Bow riders ad Rifle riders, the equivalent of having both Cavalry archers and dragoons! Fourth, they have the card Mustangs which makes all their cavalry cost less.&amp;nbsp; Cant you see how they could be good in a DM?&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Put the following cards in your deck:&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;Mustangs&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;Riding School&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;Any cards that upgrade cav&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;Crates of food, coin&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;The card that lets you train natives instantly.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;Btw you should use this strat on the map great plains.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Heres how i start off. First, send 2 villagers to build a Corral (equivalent of a stable), 2 to build a war hut, 1 to build a fire pit, and one to build a market.&amp;nbsp; When the market is finished, get the New Moon Festival big button upgrade that gives you 2000xp (5 shipments) Ship riding school, then mustangs, then the native card, then the cav upgrades. Send your warchief to build a cheyenne post, and when it is done get cheyenne horse trading, which allows you to train cav faster.&amp;nbsp; When all of your villagers are done building, send them to the fire pit and do the fertiliry dance which allows you to train all units faster.&amp;nbsp; When your war hut is done, get the big button uupgrade there that lets you train war hut units faster.&amp;nbsp; Now, send in a mixture of wakina rifles, musket riders, bow riders, clubmen, and axe riders and attack.&amp;nbsp; When you hit max pop, set your&amp;nbsp;fire pit to boost all units attack.&amp;nbsp; I personally train 19 villagers and have my fire pit at 25/25 villagers.&amp;nbsp;If you start losing the battle, train some more and make a FWB.&amp;nbsp; IF you start running out of resources, send your villagers (this is why i like having 25) and gather from nearby bison. Have your warchief claim as many trade posts as possible and send in the natives from them.&lt;/P&gt;

(Delete church after you have built the spies)&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Step 6) Place them in OP Stealth!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Step 7) Spread them all over the map!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Step 8) look out for the hero! (they will start plodding a long with their hero trying to find your spies) Just move your spies a round the heros line-o-sight, since your spies have an OP line-of-sight&amp;nbsp;they can see farther then the hero.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Step 9) Go to facebook, or google, or forums, or go get a drink, watch TV and eat Pizza. In other words just relax! Wait for your enemy to become so angry and fustrated that they ragequit! No matter the rank, they will eventually rage-quit! Since&amp;nbsp;they can not buy spies (because in you can not purchase a&amp;nbsp;capital in DM IV age) they will never be able to find out where your spies are!!!!!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Step 10) Enjoy your hard earned OP victory! &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Anyway that&amp;nbsp;is just an extremely OP strategy for DM, pretty much the only one you need to know for DM too!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;P.S. They tell you it's about speed and if I am not fast, I should just do team dm.&lt;br&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Create 2v2 game, people join "1v1?" "No" They leave.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Join 1v1 game out of desperation for any playtime at all, get squashed again by superior players.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Join 2v2 game, get kicked for low rank.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;All of this with there being about 2 or 3 games available. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;Does not help I picked the Ottomans as my civ when they have the worst selection of offensive units. I plan to switch to another when I hit my next landmark, if I find enough games to get XP from that is.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;How does anyone with low rank/low home city play DM anymore? Also, any pointers to playing the Japanese would be appreciated!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Usually, what I do, is build an army of Yumi/Samarui and Yabasumes, however the Yabasumes get extremely expensive (150 coin each). I tend to turtle, until I have the resources to keep attacking, wave by wave. &lt;P&gt;1. 1 settler makes a house, 1 settler makes a church, 3 settlers make a blockhouse (make 3 or more blockhouses).&amp;nbsp; Also the explorer should make a T center&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;2. After church is built, get mercentalism and get 5 shipments in the following order:&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Fencing School&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Dueling School&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Blockhouse hitpoints&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Blockhouse cannon&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Riding School&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;3. Build 2-3 artillery foundries and make culverins and falconets&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;4. Spam musks.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;5. Make stables and make 20-30 cossacks&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;6. Make 40 or more settlers and task them on mills and plantations&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;7. Get 4 blockhouse card and build blockhouses around your colony&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;8. Divide your forces and send them to different parts of your colony&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;9. Wait for&amp;nbsp;your opponents&amp;nbsp;to attack.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;10. After a few of your opponent's mass attacks, counterattack him and win!&lt;/P&gt;

I ask them to change civ (they're higher ranks too so it feels kind of unfair..even though they probably lame to get their rank) to something a little less OP so&amp;nbsp;I can&amp;nbsp;have a good match,&amp;nbsp;and they just leave. (I have to admit&amp;nbsp;I've played many&amp;nbsp;people who only use Germans in DM and they don't even micro at all and truck right over your&amp;nbsp;stuff&amp;nbsp;... so i'd like to know where the true&amp;nbsp;pro's these&amp;nbsp;days are.)&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;I fell in love with Brits and always use them as my signature DM civ and I would like to know if there's any people around Captain rank that maybe I can play with&amp;nbsp;in Brits mirrors and such...anyone out there?&lt;/P&gt;
