yes folks its that time again. todays fail award goes to the poster and anyone who actually wasted their time answering. this question has no context at all, and half of you answered, without having any idea what he was talking about, and the other half bitched at each other lol. then theres metis who just typed some lomg paragraph about various gathering rates or whatever. i assume it was gathering rates, but im not going to put myself through reading that.

Why are you using a farm with only 10 villies?

You should be hunting dude!! deers taste goooood, buffalo taste goooood.

You shouldn't even be thinking about upgrading mills until your natural resource (mines, hunts) become depleted.

By this time, you should easily have enough gold to get your mill / plant. upgrades and capitol upgrades (You don't want to be using mills until you get the 50% from the capitol)

I build a farm and up grade it before I run out of hunts and I also send cards increased gather rates for farms. I also do this with plantations so when you have to move to them you’re gather rates are still good.

If you have 1k food what age are you in? You should be making constant villagers out of as many town centres as possible.

It would be useful to make cows with any spare food and get a better return once they have fattened.

Go for upgrades first, they cost wood and gold, so it wont stop u from making vills. You make that 1st mill when yre able and keep upgrading while u gather from natural resources. By the time youre ready to build all mills, they are all upgraded, and yr villies are rolling in the resources. Id get market upgrades asap, obviously bc it enhances yr gathering from natural resources with the vils u already have, and as the new ones are trained, they gather faster straight away.

But I mean in treaty... its just as long as you dont forget to make upgrades lol.

Makig 30 vills in discovery is suicide. If you play any rusher, ANY RUSHER, You will get completly owned. To make 30 vills the MAKE time is 15 minutes. Plus gather makes that more like 18. A good rusher can be inside your base in 9 minutes. An okay in 11. A terrible rusher is 14 minutes, and that's still before you even start aging, even if you start out with 12 villagers.

A rush at 9 mins is too slow.

Make vils over early upgrades.

Remember that gathering upgrades are a percentage of the base gathering rate. Un-upgraded standard settlers gather at the rate of 0.67 food per second from a mill. A 15% mill upgrade will up the gathering rate to 0.77 food per second. The difference, therefore, for 10 settlers would amount to about one additional settler, for 20 settlers about three additional settlers, and with thirty settlers about five additional settlers. So the more settlers you have the more the upgrades are worth. This is why it’s often best to ignore early upgrades and instead produce more settlers. Once you have your econ set up and have extra resources then you can start getting the upgrades.

well obviously the 10 villagers becuase then it would be a 100% increase in production, wheras if you research a milling tech it'll only give you an extra ~15%
