there are only like a few OP units in the game. genedarms, ashigarus, and hatamotos.

I feel that.

They are not OP, they are meant to be better because theyare that civs BEST unit. Ofcourse theywould win against a Russian musk for example. But when against an equal level skirm, i.e. French skrims, they get destroyed.

But, they do have the most powerful Musketeers also right? Imperial Guerrerios are OP

EDIT: with British, I have had around 260 starting army. That is 235 pop starting army with 25 cherokee riflemen.

Ports have a really strong starting army due to their uber long ranged morts and goons.

Morts are fairly useless in a starting army unless they have mobile outposts...

They can't attack units.

I think the max pop is 331, then you can use natives.

i feel like aztecs should be included in here just because of their massive start off army, since this is about starting armies. aztecs dominate there.

I was messing around before, it could be bigger than this by about 10 -1 5 pop, but I couldnt be arsed to wait for the 30 mins.... this is using all the natives and the two aztec ''infinate support' cards wich don't aount towards pop but together with natives here they add up to an extra 101 pop!!!, ignore the score it was speed always wins haha.

that isnt the starting army...

russian units are below average, its the fact you can spam them to hell and that they are cheep.

On a side note, are british rockets any good? - like worth the fact you can't build them and have to use a shipment/factory to get them good?

many of those combos work well with one replaced by russia. yeah i know russia's OP, but we were talking about france too so... anyway russia has that nice team faster infantry building card, which is very useful. also the russian player can help out werever they have a blockhouse or fort instantly because of those infantry.
