Planning of investing in the microsoft Patch for AOE3 i see a lot of people inneed of a new fully updated game,therefor would like to invest in this project to save haven my long term pension.

Who like FFA ? I know I do , I think multiplayer FFA is great . The constant tension , the betraylal , the alliances ,the break - up's . How by a mixture of skill , democraphics , and sheer luck you can control a vast empire across much territory.

Does anybody feel like when in standard supremacy , your 15 , and when In FFA , your suddenly 50 ?

I love the diplomacy and power games , how you make formal treaties of peace, alliance , water rights and even settlement rights (all of which I have done)

I often play with a friend , and we are very competitive , he is the more advanced gamer , nevertheless we do enjoy a nasty little underground war of land control , trade posts , and surprise "retribution" and " tax" attacks :D

In FFA I play all nations , I enjoy the beefy dutch , but the brits are also good , the IRO normally end in disaster .

Please , tell me your stories about FFA experiences , I love reading about how people manage to win against the odds :)

A game I had recently ? I was in an unknown map , a very big desert/ Mongolia type setup , I was dutch and In the extreme north , I had a neat little town , well defended by natural barriers , my nearest competition was my friend ( playing French)

Purple - Dutch

Orange - French

Yellow - Russian

Red- Japanese

Me (green) - Dutch

Navy blue - Dutch

I know , three dutch players , it was going to be a nasty game .

Purple was roughly mid way on the left , orange mid right , yellow souther right , red souther left , and me , all alone , in the north x)

Well I was very happy , I walled off a large bit of land with the help of natural barriers ( rocks mainly) , orange was close by , and we agreed a good- faith agreement ( to help each other if attacked , to not attack each other ) I built up quickly , ageing up in a decent time , I focused on booming because I wasn't rushed . A war flared up between the two dutch powers who were close to eachother , Purple one and destroyed navies town . Navy fled and made a sort of shanty town mid -way on the tradeing post road .

Tensions between myself and orange were mounting , I disliked his constant superior tone he had with me , we also disputed a tradeing post south of my base . He initially took it , and when diplomacy failed , I decided action speaks louder than words.

For the next 10 - minutes we fought a micro- war around the post , I surprised him by blending a mix of halbs and hussars ,Needless to say I won the post , which he abstained from disupteing .

The game went on . Japan and Russia ate up the entire southern map with a complex of walls , farms , and military camps . They became super-powers . Japan , on the march northwards for more land , simply swallowed up Navies town , wipeing him off the map . Orange did not build walls , but was nevertheless a formidable power .

Then , Purple launched a shocking surprise attack . Right into my base . He/she came through a small narrow unguarded crevice on the corner of my base , I hadn't walled it because I didn't think anybody could go through it.

Besides loseing a few barracks , no serious damage was done , the heroic action of my hussars saved my factory from immenent destruction . I responded hard to this henous act , launching an all - out assult on purple base .

Purple wasn't a very good player , my imperial hussars slowly ate at his vast collection of guard-level skirms . We fought like dogs ,my motars crushed his walls and military base , whilst a raid of hussars that bit deep into his town devastated his eco . " I will punish you for transgressing my territory" I said , "that so?" he replied

It was so.

I flattended his town , and made it very clear as well , now I was ready to crush orange . By this time orange was slowly eating through japans massive defense . Russia was making its mind up as to which nation he should support ( eventually , seeing which way the wind was blowing , he allied with the French) whilst I sat , booming . Waiting.

But then ihad to leave :( , to compensate , I sent several mointors to shell his town , the end x)

Hello, i,m new here and this is my first question. I have an aoe 3 installed in my computer. i've played it well until I instal warchief and asian dinasty. i can't open my original version. when i tried to open it, the splashscreen pops up, then nothing happen. is this common? I use windows xp. Or is there any problem? Please help me.

Ok, I used to beat my friend with the average German Rush. The thing is, he "discovered" the Chinese and I can't, for the life of me, beat him -_-. He ages up at around 5 mins with that building that spawns free cav, and when we hit the 10 mins mark I have about a billion guys killing my settlers and burning my buildings.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I uninstalled OOE3 and tried to reinstall it. But now the game wont launch. It installs no problems at all, but when i double click to start game the hour glass comes up for a few seconds but then nothing happens and game doesnt launch, even if i go through program\microsoft games\Age of Empires III

SOme1 out there must know???????????

Clan buddies who while playing in a 3v3 on decan oos. My team was clearly winning( we were in thier base and about to win) when shetan lagged and it brought up drop screen. fr_CommandoXx wouldnt drop and drop screen wouldnt stay up for longer than a second. finnaly after about 5 min shetan finally drop and it oos.

I tried to play against my friend, but when I create a city, the game doesn't show it.

I created city after city, but - nothing.

I've noticed this when I tried to host a game, and the computer told me that I need to create a Deathmatch Home City, even though my city was that kind.

I tried to reinstall the game, but it didn't help.

can you help me, please?

Hi there, I have seen some players online that can change formations of their soldiers, for example, I saw my rival sending his pikemen to my colony but they suddenly walked in a diamond shape, as if they have different formations. How do we do that?

I look at tad theres 1 game thats passworded, I look at warchiefs ITS EMPTY and then i look at the normal version.....2 games that are colloseums with like 2 people in each one. WHAT HAPPENED TO U AOE3!

Romans in AoEO

If the Romans are ever added to AoEO I may consider buying the Premium Pack for it, or whatever.

And because I don't keep up with the news, has anyone heard anything on this? Perhaps a link to an article or something? I know the Romans don't really fit into the game at the moment, but I am sure they'll come up schooner or later.
