Subject: AOM II vs. AOE IV

ive read many poll's and threads on this, atleast 80% says AOM II over AOE IV

if the AOE line continues you should consider playing a C&C generals game becuz those games start in WW I and further. further more ES would have to compeet with those games if htey would continue their timeline.

AOM II i think this is from the players side already the favorite game, although i havent seen a single reply from a ES insider on this idea, thats kinda strange, since its such a popular idea.

anyone has any fun sugestions on how to tell ES that AOM II would be bought by more ppl than AOE would.

(please there are many threads in witch you could express your ideas about AOM II this is just for getting it on the shelves)

    make aom2 everybody wants it!

nah it could work just finish the game with WW1. All the big Empires fell then and Russia and the US emerged as the Top Dogs of the world. End the AOE series and start AOM2 simple.

Assuming you need keep going forward in time!

If AOE4 revisited ancient times or AOM2 was released I'm sure people would buy it. Just depends if you prefer the historical accuracy or not.

Aoe4 WW1 would work just fine. It still had archaic style warfare and a lot of the technologies in the industrial age of aoe3 still carry over. Overall the only thing they will have to implement are aircraft and trench defensive bonuses, both not that hard. The game will be quite similar, just on a larger scale with new techs. More strategy required in pushing through lines. Have to learn how to fight in that style.

    Hello, according to this interview:

    http://www.agecommunity.com/aoeinterviews.aspx

The next AoE title may be a remake of Age of Kings, which in my opinion would be an excellent choice. 80% of my friends keep playing AoE2, because they didn’t like the historical period that age3 covers. According to Xfire:

    http://www.xfire.com/games/aoe2/Age_of_Empires_II/

There are 800 users playing AoE2 per day and consider another amount of users playing that doesn’t use Xfire, AoE2 has more than the half of the players that AoE3 has. If AoE4 goes to modern warfare I think lots of players will keep playing AoE3, including me. So remaking Age of Kings would be a great choice to regroup the community.

And for AoM II, well I never played it online because I dint like the gods power part, but may be good option rather than a World War game. At least I may give it a try.

Why is everyone in opposition to WWI? I think that would be interesting because back then they still used calvary and some archaic weapons. I think their is just too many Mideival RTS based games. It would be intresting to get some variety.

I personally think they should remake AOE1.

I got it, but I'd recommend Company Of Heroes, as it is way better! Go for that game, if ya got a good gaming computer.

If you wanna play some RTS of WW and mechanized warfare here you have some titles:

    -Axis and Allies

    -Cold War Conflicts

    -Command & Conquer

    -Commandos 3

    -Company of Heroes

-Empires: Dawn of the Modern World

    -World in Conflict

If AoE goes to WW it may lose many of the concepts that define AoE not to mention it will require a new economic model.

Age of Kings is the best RTS game that covers the medieval time, the only similar game that comes to my mind is the Total War one, but it doesn’t have any economy/city building, so I may don’t chose it as an option.

AOE4 won't work, the general sense of the game would be lost, although AOM2 isn't the best option. A remake of the original AOE1 would be better.
