    Subject: what does "ruyter "mean? and the other exotic unit name ?
    Since I'm not playing a English Version , and I can't find this word on dictionary . So anybody would tell me .....what's "ruyters "means?

    its just the word for all people riding a horse, withour weapon, with gun, with sword doesnt matter and why they chosen it in aoe i dont know^^

    Ruyter(old Dutch) or Ruiter(modern Dutch) is Dutch for "horseman" so it only says somebody at a horse. Carabineer is from the Dutch word Karabijn what is some kind of pistol so a Carabineer is a Horseman WITH a pistol.

    Today anywayz. ;) It's also some heavy cavalry I guess.

    Coureurs des Bois means "runner of the woods".
