    Subject: PR or Elorating

I check my Pr and elorating every now and again. What I find is that my wins and loses can virtually every time (90%+) be predicted by the sum of the eloratings on the team, the higher virtually always wins.

When I look at Pr the ratings virtually always mean NOTHING. There is no relationship between wins ands loses when playing 2nds to captains.

The key I think is that PR has some major faults:

    1. A lot of games seem never to count, this means that a Pr level can be unrealistically low like 1800+ for a 2nd
    2. It takes little account of win rate change when you have played a lot of games. Get better after 200 games and tough you stay a noob rank FOREVER

The best thing is I'm normally 1800+ now but show a low PR rank. It means a good win rate.

ESO make ranks based upon elo rating please. PR seems dead.

i also think ELO is better than PR, but there are two problems i see on ELO:

-if you are in a losing streak, it falls too fast(not a big problem tho)

-if you're not a good player, it falls under 1600, that is where it starts, so some people say some would give up playing because of that

BTW, you said about a 1800+ 2nd Lt, but i've already been a 2000+ 1st Lt, on vanilla tho

    I already saw a Sergeant with ELO2000+

But the problem with ELO is that you can't go check it while you play, it usually takes about 3-4 mintes to load the page due to the high memory AOE3 takes, so usually the players ocmplain. And in team battles (3v3's mostly), it'll take forever to check up the ELO, so i don't think it's quite useful

PR is usually more useful, since it situates you in the margin of skill; you CAN'T be THAT bad if you're a Major; even if you suck like hell, you'll still be better than a Private. So if you play with a nooby major, just put him in pest list so next time he's on, you'll be sure to not play with him ;)

I completely agree with all of this. PR is an inferior method of measuring skill to ELO. I also notice in 1v1s that the ELO rating almost always predicts who wins; the PR is across the board.

    Germ:
It takes little account of win rate change when you have played a lot of games. Get better after 200 games and tough you stay a noob rank FOREVER

This is why there is such an inconsistency with my ELO and pr rating. I hardly ever see anyone with my PR rating that as an ELO near as high as mine. PR grows way too slowly.

I agree, if PR grew faster then the inconsistencies will go
