    Subject: 640 X 480 Issue
Hello, Yes I have been having a problem with TAD. Well I accidently put for the game to run in a 640 X 480 Resolution and now when I play it, it shows it in that size and it doesn't show a home city when the game starts. Ummmm does anyone have an idea how to fix this?

if you can't get to the options screen delete your age of empires III folder in my documents\my games.  Otherwise set the graphics back up to something like 1024x768

I tried both no luck Ill just tell you what I did in detail. I was trying to make my AOE work again so I right clicked the Icon and went to Compatiblity under settings I saw run 640 X 480 resolution  because I was having the resolution problem where I put the wrong one and I got a black screen so I thought it would change it so I can play it. But when I went to look back the 640 X 480 resolution was unchecked and its still in affect.

Assuming you have no access to the Options Menu:

Option 1: Find the "Default ProfileX" (X depending of expansions) file (in the "Users" folder) in Windows Explorer and delete it. Important: Repeat this for every file (in this folder) if you own the expansions. Open the game and it will automatically recreate the file. Some data shall unfortunately be lost.

Option 2: Find the "Default ProfileX" (X depending on expansions) file (in the "Users" folder) in Windows Explorer. Important:  Backup the file first. Open the file in Notepad and press "Ctrl-F" to bring up the search. Search for "res". Once you have found it change "<setting> 640 x 480 </setting>" to approximately "<setting> 1024 x 768 </setting>". Important: Remember to save your changes; and repeat this to every file (in this folder) if you own the expansions. When you run AOE3 again absolutely no data shall be lost.

This will fix all of issues Big Smile
