french are one of the easy civs to master, their are many stratergies to continue on with like an xbow spam but i never do that when i was a low lvl

though i think u need a lvl 25 home city or higher for this-

first of put 2 on crates and the rest on food and continue to make cbds,and send the 3 cbd shipments when u have 10 on food put the others on wood until you have 800 wood to age with the 400 wood politician during this send the team colonial skirmishers and cassadors (only for french)

Colonial

collect the 400 wood and make 1 barracks and send the 700 gold when u get the shipment during this time make 10 - 15 muskets as a meat shield and to defeat calvalry, continue to make cbs and put them on gold and if needed food (only 2 - 3 cbds if needed on food), make skirmishers from then on or muskets if wanted, send 700 wood for one more barracks and houses, the enxt shipment would be 600 gold to make skirmishers to kill infantry and muskets for siege and calvalry or just a meat shield

Instead of sending gold for muskets and sending villagers to gold send 700 wood so you can make pikemen instead of muskets. Pikemen + Crossbows=  hard to beat ( but not impossible)
