    Subject: Ranking System

    Hello everyone

anyone knows how the ranking works in EOS online. I play warchiefs mostly and got to be private/lance corporal by now, but I have no idea how the ranks are achieved.

is it simly winning x times? must it be a streak ? can you drop a rank (the levels inside a rank seem to drop sometimes e.g. private (level 6) sometimes a level higher or lower.

Or better yet, is there a page somewhere with this kind of info

    Thanx, and game on everybody

    thanx very much !!

it helps lots, but it is still a bit vague. Im still wondering how many matches I should (more or less/rule of thumb) to receive a rank, and whether this needs to be a streak or not.

(e.g. one may expect to receive a higher rank when winning approximately 10(? i dont knwo) matches (in a row) against comparable adversaries)

e.g. i received corporal rank almost instantly in the treaty games (within 2-4 days play), but am still stuck at private level 7 for supremacy, while i keep thinking "after this win im there", and i do have a nice streak going.....

also this page says there is a decay for upper levels, but I also noticed i was flipping a bit between levels, up and down (lower levels, 5 6 7 etc), so whats that about ?

I guess level may drop (?), but you maintain your rank, as long as it doesn't decay (which is only true for 26+ level ranks )

    thanx !

You get more rank if you play high ranked people (if you win ofcourse) home city level also matters the higher, the more rank you get. You lose rank if you lose games

    Have a nice day

I'm not sure where your confusion lies, thread starter, so to blatantly copy the thing from the agecomm website:

    50 Field Marshal
    47-49 General
    44-46 Lieutenant General
    41-43 Major General
    38-40 Brigadier
    35-37 Colonel
    32-34 Lieutenant Colonel
    29-31 Major
    26-28 Captain
    23-25 1st Lieutenant
    20-22 2nd Lieutenant
    17-19 Master Sergeant
    14-16 Sergeant
    11-13 Corporal
    8-10 Lance Corporal
    3-7 Private
    0-2 Conscript

That's how the ranking system works, everytime you gain 3 levels you will be promoted. Points are commonly allocated to you as you win games in decimals, so let's say you beat a fellow corporal; you'll get something like 0.4 points from that. When the number surpasses the required amount, you will gain a rank. Then all may fear you Wink

    :) Yes thanx,

    but I read/got that.

I was simply asking for some simple rules of thumb, just like your example of 0.4, so thank you very much for that. I understand you get points/xp for everything and it depends on everything ertc etc,.

so that means i have to beat about 7-8 same-ranked opponents to gain a rank

    that sounds about right?

and again, what about losses, or is it just 7-8, regardless of loosing some games in between.

It depends on the civs you and your opponent are playing as (some civs are "weaker" then others so you get slightly more points from winning as them), the home city levels of the players, the respective ranks, the number of games played and so on.

But all those factors are small, the only one that actually makes a difference is respective ranks. Gaining 0.4 points a win is rare; by beating players of your own level (in your case corporal) you'll usually gain 0.2 or 0.3.

And each time you lose, points are subtracted from your rank. You often lose the same amount of points as you would have gotten from winning the match.

So to answer your question, you could gain many ranks by consitently winning 1vs1 games vs people of equal or greater rank. But remember, playing against people of much higher rank (such as Majors for you) will have a minimal effect on your rank.

thanx, thats pretty clear and practical.

     one thing though, you say.

But remember, playing against people of much higher rank (such as Majors for you) will have a minimal effect on your rank.

Wouldn't I go very fast (maximal) up in rank playing majors and winning, but not loosing so much points when i loose from them. (that would be logical/fair)

And to make sure, you can get bunked back to private/conscript if you loose enough ?? that kinda sucks ... or can you get bunked down to the minimal level of your rank (private level 7 e.g. may be bunked to level 4, but cannot be bunked back to conscript)

     thanx !
