    Subject: Saved games

    Hi,

I know this can really be classed as Troubleshoot problems etc and I have checked the FAQ's etc and found nothing on it so I decided to post it here in case someone has had similar problems and can tell me the solution.

Not long ago I deleted my Age Of Empires 3 and the expansion pack, when I was unistalling it I made sure that it didn't remove any saved games etc. Today, I reinstalled them both and when I tried to go on the game all of the profiles/saved games/home cities were missing. I thought this might be due to the fact that my old Age Of Empires 3 folder wasn't in the main folder on my C drive. So I copied all of the data across into the new file and tried again. Once more nothing was there and I am very puzzled as to why that has happened.

What's more I tried to go on the multiplayer and when it starts up it starts to download the latest patch but as it tries to do it, it comes up with an error message saying something along the lines of 'Failure to connect, check your internet connection and see if you can get onto www.eso.com on your web browser.'

Hopefully someone will be able to tell me whats wrong here and all comments/suggestions are most welcome.

    Thanks again,

    Bunnit

All of the single player save games, recorded games, custom scenarios/maps, and personal options for the game are stored in the \My Documents\My Games\Age of Empires 3 Folder (well technically sub-folders of that folder)

This is what you should have backed up when you uninstalled and if you did after you re-installed you should be able to simply copy over your backup and your old stuff should show back up in the game.

    Thats what I did.

I opened up the new folder and the old one and copied across everything individually into each corresponding folder. That meant that I had all the data from the old folder in the new one and yet for some reason nothings on the game when I load it up.

     Thanks,

     Bunnit
