Ok just to get to the point, on my friend's PC Age of Empires III The War Chiefs is missing. Every Single File!!! He never uninstalled it. No one in his house touched the game. I fave been through every possibility, from hackers to accidental uninstall. I checked his PC logs, Router logs, EVERYTHING. I checked his HDD format recovery and It says the game was never installed. Neither of us have a clue I am stumpped so is everyone else I know.....  Anyone have a clue? My friend even has a screen shot of his desktop from last week with the shortcut on his desktop. Now its gone. He did nothing to his Pc in 1 week. No opening no new parts new songs no downloads even! Anyone have a clue.... A ghost maybe? PLEASE TELL ME WHAT HAPPENED! Ohh and he now has TWC back on his PC, just reinstalled it normally.

Yes he does, but they enjoy TWC as well. They also use very strict users on Vista where they cannot install or uninstall software without my friend's password. He changes the password every like 2 weeks. His brother doesn't know the admin password either. I know this b/c my friend interrogated his brother, who is a VERY bad liar.

Sounds as though someone restored his computer back to a point before the install of TWC. Or simply someone is lying.

Hmm Well it couldn't have been the restore point.... because all of his other software including TAD is still on his PC. ITs a mystery....

Well obviously since games can't untinstall themselves I would think it's the work of a virus or someone else deleting it.

Programs can uninstall itself and and some viruses delete tarces of themselves in the files they inhabited. Did you try a virus scan recently , before the game disapeared?

My friend runs a scan once monthy. Unlike me where I run a quick scan every day and a full scan every friday... Well I have been looking and still nothing. I think its just a mystery. It cannot even be a ghost, the house was cutom built on land that was never anything but forest until his grandparents aquired it. Unless someone released a spirt or something... I cannot find a reasonable reason why this happened. I am going to keep looking!

Maybe his parents deleted TWC n den install it again???
