Subject: Losing part of the sound

This bug is serious to me since I lose a lot of games when I can't hear whats going on. According to agesanctuarys forum this bug is quite frequent but noone really knows why it happens.

What happens is that in most games I lose parts of the sound, like being attacked, some of the fighting sounds, creating villagers but still can hear some muskets etc. In the beginning of the game I'm fine.

     What I've tried so far:

    Reinstalling
    Trying different cds.
    Updating sound drivers.

Other games work perfect, including AoE2 and the witcher.
I've vista so I cannot toy with sound acceleration settings.

I'd love if someone would help me fix this as I'm now contemplating leaving the game.
    Best regards
    zhaz

No, where specifically do you increase sound? Regedit brings me the whole register.
